probably not going to happen. I read in the paper today that the group who wants to build it overstated their assets. they have under $1M in assets. Its going to cost about $100M to build it. I dont think that is going to fly with a lender.

because the project is being run by the Port Authority of NY & NJ who own the land that a real estate developer, Larry Silverstein, leases from them. The administration on the Port Authority is so fucked up it took them 5+ years just to get a design completed.
2 buildings have been completed at the site and the "Freedom Tower" is finally going up. its now a steel structure sticking out of the hole at about 15 stories.

it wasnt just about rebuilding but that was the gist. it was a while ago.
really though, the site looks exactly the same as it did a decade ago. not much effort as far as rebuilding. the hole is getting bigger, thats about it. they are still finding pieces of bone on top of buildings surrounding the site.

does it really matter? bad date, in bad taste but i am pretty sure it these people would be against what happened in 2001. it is a shame it has taken this long to rebuilt ground zero though. not for lack of effort though everytime i go by it there are a good 900-1500 people working on it.

No, it doesn't really matter but you would think that with the known opinion of a fair amount of Americans... especially New Yorkers, about what happened that day they would have picked a different date. I have no problem with where it is but that coupled with the potential opening date just CAN come across as a giant "fuck you"

not only that but the Deutsche Bank building that was destroyed in the attack is still standing. it has taken them all this time to get it down to about 20+ stories. again, another project being run by NY state. its coming down verrrrry slowly. The company I used to work for is building a W Hotel directly across the street from the building.

I don't really agree with it I'm just saying people are getting really mixed up.

The nuke is what killed the japanese, the terrorists killed americans. Muslims are not terrorists, but some terrorists are muslim, and some are christian. It's not the same.

I don't think you realize the situation that the world is in. Do you know how fucking dangerous the terrorists in afghanistan are? They're fucking everywhere dude, and their in the united states. Shit's all over youtube, I'm surprised the government hasn't gotten on top of things and taken all that stuff off youtube. Usually information like this doesn't get out, but it has and people need to be aware that anywhere, any second, there could be a terrorist attack. The government definitely needs to step it up a notch and take things like communication systems and the internet into their hands - its the only way to protect the great nation of america.
