Legal issue help

So I just got pulled over for talking on my cell phone while driving (in Colorado it's illegal if you're under 18).  Was it legal for the officer to pull me over on suspicion that I wasn't 18 + years of age?

I don't think it was legal if he had no other reason to stop you. My friend is dating this guy who looks like he is twelve even though he's 18. Anyways, I was talking to him about about whether or not he gets pulled over alot while driving, for officers to check his age and he told me it is illegal for officers to pull someone over on the suspicion of their age or other factors regarding how they "look".
That being said he told me he gets pulled over ALOT for sketchy reasons such as officers claiming he was swerving, not putting his blinker on till the last second for turning, not having his lights on when he has had to have his wipers on, just about anything an officer can pull him over and give him a warning because of.

considering its a primary law instead of a secondary they can pull you over for it, and they have a texting ban for all drivers so they could say they pulled you over for that

he was obviously right you, quit being a dope. You broke the law sonny. How the fuck is an officer supposed to know how old you are without pulling you over? He saw you yakking on the phone, deal with it. On that note, I think this is kinda a bullshit law. My home state of MA, the nanny state, is trying to push through a complete ban on all cell phone use in cars-this includes hands-free and headsets. Pretty fucking illogical. I wonder if they will outlaw radio use and passengers after they slam cell phones.

They used to have it so it was just a secondary charge if you got pulled over for speeding. They are allowed to do that now. Up in Maine there are so many road laws. IT is so horrible that a secondary charge is eating while driving. Wasn't fast food invented for that?

you do know that the AZ law only applies to people who are committing a crime, right? A cop can't stop you in AZ to ask for your "papers" on a whim. You have to be committing a crime or a suspicious act. And another thing, this ridiculous notion that they ask for your "papers" is completely false. They ask you for your ID or a license. People who oppose the bill coined that stupid allusion to invoke images of Nazi Germany that are completely inapplicable to AZ's situation. IF these illegals don't want to be deported, then they should just not commit violent acts, kidnappings, and drug-related murders. What the fuck is wrong with deporting someone who has done that kind of shit? The overwhelming majority of AZ likes it, so I like it too. And another thing, AZ has just taken the Federal policy and put it into effective use because the FEDS don't have the balls to enforce our borders.Iv've been wearing my AZ bobcats hat all week in support. /rant

So what if he's profiling, that happens everywhere to some extent.  Everyone judges one another at some point in there life.  You broke the law, you only have yourself to blame.  Your simply trying to make an excuse to try and take the responsibility off of yourself in the situation.

Unfortunately in today's society to keep things safe, some profiling takes  place with caution.  I've been pulled over numerous times because of my age around Summit county, and because I had a bright blue jacket to see if I was smoking.  I could care less because I wasn't breaking the law.  Good on the cops for keeping people safe.  It should be illegal to talk on phones/hand free devices at all while driving.  Especially in the mountains.

We've all profiled, but it didn't matter if he did, he caught you breaking a law, pay the fine and accept it, and don't break the law then you won't have to try and find excuses as to how you were caught.

Your not going to get anywhere trying to counter it.
