what the title says but I don't have a skimboard bag....theres probably no chance I could just carry it on haha? I'm flying southwest. I've got a Zap Bomb which is about 3.5 feet tall and a foot and a half wide. I'm leaving thursday afternoon. any ideas?
I took my wakeskate to Florida once and didn't have a bag. I wrapped it in a couple towels, then wrapped that in Seran wrap. The just under the Seran wrap put a piece of paper with my info on it. Then just check that shit. Southwest is good about checked bags too, I think it's 2 for free or something.
buy 2 pool noodles, cut a slit down one side. then you can wrap your edges in that and put it in a box. thats how i always travel with my skimboard. the box looks ghetto as hell but it works
+k for all you guys thanks. my dad hooked me up with an old golf bag soft case i'm just gonna jam it in there with towels tape and a floatie noodle and check it as my other bag. southwest bags fly free so I'm good to go i think. hope i get the rapping flight attendant!
jump out of the plane before landing and skim down gently
it's southwest so they'll care less than most airlines, but i highly doubt you can carry it on, that would just be dumb. i'd wrap it up nice in lots of bubble wrap and shit and just check it
You should be legit flying with it. Def not going to be able to carry it on. Not even close. Check the dimensions on the airline website. I had to pay 100 bucks each way for my fucking surfboard when I went to cali. The next trip out there I just shipped it.
i carried on a skimboard i bought in florida. if i remember correctly i was able to lay it flat and keep my feet on it or it was able to fit flat in overhead. it was a few years back. mine was a cheapie though, i would just check it and wrap it up nicely if its free
Usually there pretty strict on size these days. And if the op doesn't have a nice one, better off almost snagging one down there depending on the airline and fees
