so im looking at the rf-602 triggers off ebay, to work with my D90. my budget is nearly zero, so as far as flashes go im looking for the bare minimum. on the ebay pages it lists all the compatible nikon flashes, and other brands. but on a different ad, it said they would work with any 12 volt flashes. so....a few questions:
do the transmitters work with other flashes, ie; cheapo craigslist flashes?
are all basic flashes 12 volts?
do you have to use a flash with a "sleep mode", as some of the ads say? what is this?
any other info or experiences to guide me? i snooped on strobist for a while and looked all over fredmiranda, and couldnt really find straight answers. thanks for the help!
