For me the movie wasn't like a terribly vilent movie, i mean theres worse out right now, but could you imagine back in the '70s when the movie came out, movie critics and everybody must have freaked over it.

Have you seen 'Gummo' yet? That shit is nuttier than 'Clockwork Orange'. It was produced by same director who made KIDS.

its funny you mention it: My mom only alows me outside for three hours of the day each day. and during those hours I am not alowwed to wonder out of eye sight of her and if she hears any swearing out of me, well soap tastes pretty bad!
For movies my all time fave is Titanic and Ciderhouse rules, also happen to be my moms favorite movies and the only non pg movies I have seen. My mom also makes me take showers with her near me to make sure I donot have any thoughts that lead to , well lets just say I am pretty sheltered!

^ lol, thats funny. Assuming you are joking of course, otherwise, you are seriously fucked up. :)
As for the movie, it would have been pretty wild for its time, I dont think many people expected to hear men with bowler hats, fake eyelashes, and one piece condoms to be talking about a quick game of in-out, in-out. I liked parts of it, as a social commentary.
In tractor pulls, a 'full pull' is the best you can get. Ahh, how sport mirrors life.

^I do apologize. Full metal jacket had no nudity (and was Kubrick's best film) but A Clockwork Orange, Eyes Wide Shut and the shining all had nudity. I havent seen Dr. Strangelove, but i want to.
Aclsarescary...that was actually very funny. I laughed and it was one of the best comebacks Ive heard on NS in quite some time.

I agree that people should read the book first, then see the movie. The book was sorta hard to follow because of the language. The movie was so different, I liked the book better.

i have to read it for english....apparently the movie was banned for a long time because people were killing themselves after seeing it (dont know why). stanely kubrick(sp) recieved many death threats after the movie was realeased..i think its safe to say it was a contraversial movie and the book was looked down on, but now it is considered a important piece of literature...its funny how things change.

people were killing themself after it? ummm?
on another note....have any of you read any of burgess's writing, like his opnions and shit? he's an odd guy, he was really pissed that kubrick used the different ending

Yeah, the movie is pretty crazy. The expression "giving her the old in and out" is now part of my vocabulary, even though no one I use it with has any idea where it comes from.
