shes aight. i got a weird thing about female vocalists. even if they were male vocalists (excluding cat power and alexandra hope) the music i posted up there is dope. especially tune-yards. I dunno if you've heard sister suvi but tune-yards is one of the female singers from sister suvi. check em both out if you dig weird shit.

Yeah I dug the Tune Yards song. I just hate how repetitive females get with music. It's either a weepy chick with a piano or a weepy chick with an acoustic. If not, then it's an all female punk band. Either way, it ends up being a "oh look at me I'm a girl I can hang look I play music" kitsch most of the time. There are very few women who are in it because they actually love the music they put out. But when they do -

Regina Spektor, Jenny Lewis, Dolly Parton, Tune yards I guess, Cat Power, Neko Case, end up being amazing.

you could say the same about every male solo vocalists too. either weepy sad dude with an acoustic or weepy sad dude with a piano singin about how drunk he got cuz his baby left him all alone. I dunno, I think there are plenty of talented female artists out there, but I agree there are certainly a lot of mediocre ones who do the same shit as every other girl out there.
