They used to be cap. Recent years are now sidewall.

They are a lot softer now, they used to be stiff but now they actually seem "soft".

NO - 09 and earlier were foam core, 2010 and later are wood core. This also makes them slightly heavier (but they're probably still one of the lightest skis on the market), and softer (but still on the stiffer side of the scale). Also, like said above, they're sidewall skis as of 2010 as well. Other than that, just the graphic has changed.

I've never skied the wood core but I really liked the foam core. The foam mad these skis SO light. After that ski, every ski I have tried since seemed heavy for a bit. Also, since it was foam, it wears out a bit. When I first got them, they were pretty stiff and I was pretty small (about 5"2). Two years later when I was getting ready to get new skis, they were absolute noodles. Keep in my I was about 5"8 and had used the skis heavily for 2 years. I bet the wood core would prevent them from becoming such noodles after a while. Hope that helps.

These are defanitely sick skis, I loved mine until they broke. I'd defanitely go with the slightly heavier, cap and wood core construction.

i duno about that, i had capped ones from like 2 years ago that were super soft and super light.  They were pretty durable as well.  I duno whats changed but i loved mine when i had them.

nrxt years are a different sidecut i think on one of his video blogs he said something about that there woodcore too

I love the wood cores more if I'm on rails, spring/hood snow, playing around, slower cruising, pretty much situations where a really playful ski is wanted

The foam cores are great for all mountain skiing, pipe, jumps, and charging hard... Hell I've even raced on them a few times.

I have been riding with head for 4 years now and I really love how the JO has changed. I don't think I'll ever ditch my 09 JO's cause they are soooo nice (and I kept the edges in perfect condition). I'm glad I don't have to choose between either year :)

The foam core was SO light - in fact it was too light for my liking, it felt like there was nothing under my feet. I didn't own them, my friend did, but I tried them out a few times, and both of us were always afraid of snapping them cause they were so stiff, light and we knew the core was foam. Personally, I'd go with the wood core any day, their not that much heavier, and since I've snapped 2 pairs of foam core skis (neither were JO Pros though), I'm not about to go out and get another.

i have foam core skis and i hate them. i tried my friends tj pros and they were softer and lighter (thats what i found) and my skis were stiff.

i had the 08's and 09's, the 08's lasted for 2 seasons but the 09's had problems after the first 2 weeks dont get them, my friend has the 10's and hes having the same issues, the top sheet sucks and the edges dont hold up on rails
