One of baseball's guiltiest pleasures is sneaking in a nap when you're watching weekend baseball on the couch. New York Mets announcer Keith Hernandez apparently shares my belief because he snuck in a self-described "cat nap" during the extra innings of Saturday's 5-4 win over the San Francisco Giants.

I can't say that I blame Mr. Mustache for taking some quick shuteye because announcing so many games per year as a member of a great broadcasting team has to get tiring.

Also, I wonder if he and Henry Blanco (notes) got together for a snooze after the latter's walk-off blast. Hank White, after all, is known to enjoy a good nap as much as anyone.

the fact that it has remained the same for so long is a testament to the fact that it is an almost perfect sport. The fact that it isn't obsolete today proves that people have been happy with it since it's inception, and I am 100% sure that Baseball will never be obsolete. I'm willing to stake my life on that claim. (I know I used "the fact that" 3 times in this post, but give me a break, my brain is fried and I have one final to go. Why the hell am I even on here?)

ive played baseball for 13 years. it is boring. i can hit a 80 mph pitch. make diving catch's in the outfield. the other 99% is boring.

so im assuming that everyone who doesn't call it a sport can stand at the plate and make a successful at bat against a pitcher that will throw a 93 mph fast ball, then come at you with a 82 mph change up, and make the decision whether or not it is in the strike zone.

hitting a pitched baseball is one of the most difficult skills to master..... players work hard at practice; it's a really difficult sport to play.

baseball may not take the most strength of physical fitness or whatever you wannna argue that makes it not a sport but baseball requires possibly the most pure athleticism out of an other sport hitting a baseball is probably the hardest thing to do in all of sports, its so hard that if you can hit a baseball 3 out of 10 tries you are considered very good. no to mention the focus and conncentration it takes. if you lose concentration for even a split second that could cost you the game. also try just standing the box while someone throws a ball at 80 mph at your head that suddenly drops into the strike zone milliseconds before it gets to you. you have to to realize that it is going drop, figure out where it is going to be, swing a bat 3 inches in diameter and then hit it. baseball arguably takes the most skill out of any other sport.
