PIPE in Edits???

So I see tons of good park skiers making edits and putting them up here and I watch them of course but how come I rarely if ever see any shots of skiers in the pipe in their edits.  I know places like PC, copper, Mammoth have real nice pipes amongst other places and it seems like most park riders just focus on rails and jumps.  I think it would good to see some shots of the pipe cause I feel like there are a lot of possibilities for sick stylish tricks to be thrown down in the pipe.

The only way to get airtime with a pure zero impact landing, how can you not love that? One of the best sensations ever.

It takes a lot more actual skiing skill (edge control, stance, etc,) than hitting rails and jumps, that's one of the reasons less people do it.

If someone is already good in the park, a lot of the time they are too embarrassed to go suck at the pipe while learning how to do it, so they just avoid it and use excuses like "pipe sucks" or "pipe is for jocks".

those sick ass NZ edits tanner put out had pipe in them, and those edits were fucking ridiculous.

i have literaly never ridden a pipe, my "hill" has 4 rails 1 jump and 2 boxes and no pipe. my lack of pipe, causes me to have a lack of intrest towards pipe, making me not realy care about edits with pipe.

Valid claims but still I think it would be sick to see some top style masters like hornbeck and casabon bring their style to the pipe.  I think it would be interesting to see what they would throw seeing they have come up with some extremely stylish tricks in the park that really were never done.  Also maybe parks could throw some features on the walls of the pipe or do something creative instead of just a basic pipe, granted it does take some top notch skill to maintain.

at my home mountain there is a pipe, but this is our secnond year it hasnt been shaped, becasue apperantly it cost $30,000 to shape and shit and the hill doesnt have that that much money, so the park crew puts rails in it and a sump at the end. gapers still try to ride up teh side of it,...

The people saying pipe has a zero impact landing have not skied much pipe.

Probably the best breakdown of why pipe gets less love than park I've read.

I will however echo the sentiment: pipe is for jocks— jocks meaning people that "train" and "practice". Riding/pumping transitions and figuring out how much to pop in order to not deck out or land in the flat are "tricks" in and of themselves.

of course you can't get ZERO impact, but if you pop off perfectly, you land on the vert, and just get the G's from the transitions, as opposed to jumps, where you have the G's from the transitions and a greater landing impact than in pipe.  Plus, how many serious pipe injuries have you seen compared to the number of injuries on jumps?

Jeez buddy, of course when you clip the deck or land too low there is impact (sometimes lots of it). But we are talking about what happens when you get it right, not what happens when you mess up.

When you catch the top of the wall just right in a perfect pipe, it is zero impact.

Pipe is so much fun to ski. All I can do is get a few feet out on a competition size super pipe, but it's still so fun. I don't enjoy watching pipe, but damn it is a rush to be inside something SO big and then get a few feet over the deck. I wish we cut our mini pipe.
