Psycology project ideas

Why not start with fear and skiing.
What role does fear play in skiing, how does it help, how does it restrain our actions. Where does it come from and how does it feel. How different is it for each of us, and how easily to overcome. How do we feel if we overcome fear in a certain situation, and what is our reaction to that. Why do we do stuff we are afraid of anyway.

You could ask fellow skiers for answers, or go into what goes on in our brain when we feel fear, what it means to get pumped, what difference your buddies make, peer pressure and so on and so on. endlessly

not that its skiing, but more, look at me and my sport, i do this and that and i love it so but i get scared doing certain things but i overcome yadayadayada... there isnt much more of a cliche thing to write about. all that stuff you mentioned, as suggestions, stupidly basic, try something that a 14 year old wearing clothes that dont fit couldnt come up with

I didn't write about liking my sport a single bit, nor that he should present it in any kind of way. Don't make up shit.
Plus, ask a 14y old what chemical reactions are and what happens in your brain under certain circumstances.

So here are the ideas I have come up with so far:

My teacher teaches the entire 8th grade us history (so 150 students) so if I do a survey or something I'll use them as lab rats.

First would be to get a shitload of pennies, some shiny and some not, and offer kids a choice of either penny, pretty much to see how many people would take the shiny penny, to prove that people like shiny things.

2nd would be to create a survey that would show some embarrassing quality of the entire grade, i have no idea what though, couldn't come up with Ideas.

now for the ideas that I want to do but will be immediately rejected:

1- show the effect of an air-horn on concentration, have kids take a test and go golfing, the whole time knowing that at any point I can blow the air-horn and fuck with them. most teachers and golfers would get pissed as shit

2- Placebo effect, a bunch of kids placebos, telling different people that it will effect them differently, and not tell some people and have them tell us how it effected them. the school board and FDA would frown upon it.

3- re-create the baby alfred experiment. basically Dr. Watson took a baby and made it afraid of things that were white and fuzzy by hitting a gong every time the baby touched it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Albert_experiment The experiment has already been deemed unethical by the APA, and where the hell will I get a baby

do something on pavlov's dogs. easy, tons of info out there on it, easy to replicate.

you should do a paper on the difference between causation and correlation

you should do a study comparing intelligence and poor eyesight to prove that all smart people wear glasses.

I'm thinking about doing something on intrinsic/extrinsic value. I would offer a really shiny new penny and a rusty old nickel, logically someone would take the nickel because it is worth five times more than the penny (extrinsic value) while the shiny penny would be worth more intrinsically because it is shiny. So the study would show whether the shininess of the penny would outweigh the monetary value of the nickel.

I´m writing an essay about the development of todays society and it´s impact on soicide as a global phenomena for my psykology class. I can recomend doing something like that, pretty simpel task.

also, for your idea -- you've oversimplified the possible explanations for why someone would choose either coin, and you lack a control group to compare results to.

despite understanding what i was saying before, you're still stuck on proving something.
