Replying to Beer Project

*valkyrie*:

I am working on a marketing plan for a beer I brewed for class, and I need to conduct some primary research about beer drinkers, so I am going to you guys for help.

The beer I brewed was an IPA, so it is a hoppier (more bitter) beer than your regular everyday ale.  I saw my potentail target market as being male 22-27 years old, because I felt that around this age guys are looking to enjoy something a little more complex than natty light, and they probably won't have as much as a problem putting down $7-9 for a six pack of "better beer."

So what I want to know is: gender, current age, how old you were when you started drinking beer that was something besides a budweiser type lager and why, and how often you drink IPA's.

Ladies opinions are welcome too! I just haven't considered them in my target market because thus far not too many girls have liked my beer, saying it's too bitter and they wouldn't drink it on a regular basis.
