I thought this was going to be a hilarious thread where yu were offering to help people illegally immigrate or you were looking for help to immigrate illegally.

Think about the other side of the argument and then think about what your reply to the other side would be.

In favor of keeping it the way it is you could say that it might not make it any better for illegal immigrants  themselves if restrictions on immigration were less stringent, because if they could come in in larger numbers all the positions they would potentially fill would be filled right away and then there wouldn't be jobs for most of them anyway. Your opponents will probably say that at least then their jobs would be legal and the ones that are working would be subject to Federal and state labor regulations so the conditions they are working in would improve dramatically.

I'm going to assume by saying "illegal immigration" you mean "mexicans."  Let them in and make it easier for them to become citizens.  The biggest arguments I hear against it are that the illegals "take all our jobs" and "don't pay taxes" to support the country. 

The ones that come over here to work just want what is best for themselves and their family, just like you and me.  They recognize they can have a much better quality of life and raise their families in a safer environment than they can in Mexico.  Mexico is actually a pretty scary place to live right now.  Generally speaking nobody wants the jobs these people fill anyways.  The majority of those that DO want those jobs tend to have terrible work ethic and are probably overpaid in that position for the amount of effort put in. 

And contrary to popular belief not all of these people are paid under the table, without paying any taxes at all.  They still have the same deductions for FICA, Medicare, ... that come out of their paychecks.  Maybe they don't claim the proper exemptions on their W-4 which does mean they don't pay the right money back to the government at tax time.  If we let them be citizens they could pay taxes or pay consequences to the same rules as Billy Bob, Tyrone, Jimmy, and Shanaqueesha when they don't pay up.

But yeah those fuckers need to learn English.  I like to think I'm a better person for knowing limited Spanish but damn it annoys me when I can't communicate something important.  Some sort of English proficiency test should be required to get citizenship.  I can't really understand why you'd want to live somewhere and not speak the language anyways.
