I don't see a contradiction in what he's saying at all: that having a sense of self-worth and an appreciation for the good things you have in life does not mean that you cannot or should not have, and actively pursue, any ambitions. In fact his argument seems to be that one is integral to the other and certainly not contradictory . It seems he's making the point that appreciating what you do have can help overcome the self-imposed limitations that people frequently seem bound by ie that a sense of contentment and self-worth is often a prerequiste for giving one the confidence and focus to achieve or attain something that is actually well within one's reach.
Seems like a fairly reasonable argument and it would be churlish to suggest his video is not inspirational.
