i dont know if you all have seen how we livin, but this guy named bernie rosow is 27 and throws sw cork 14s in the park and sw cork 12s in the backcountry. i dont know when he started park sking but at 27 i think thats pretty impressive

The only reason why people are "old" at 27 is because most people quit their pro career earlier, either because of injury or because they decide to move on with their lives... yes, this is obvious

haha. McKonkey and Brad Holmes were older than this when they started doing big air/slopestyle comps.
yeah there are plenty examples of people who slow down and then stop doing comps around this age. but they still kill it for DECADES.

I'm 25, and I'm not slowing down. Stretching a little goes a long way. I would ski nearly 100 day seasons in high school with no problem, then in college I would only ski 5 or so days a season and be sore for days after each time out. I ski a bit more outta school, like 10-15 days a season now, but I stretch more and being sore after skiing is not really an issue anymore.

And as many said 27 isn't old. I've seen guys about 30-45 who are still skiing park, not quite killing it but still well.

as everyone else in this thread has already said. 27 is NOT "old". I am 27 and learned a new rail trick the other day (bs surface swap to fs 270 out). I'm not "old" till I can't learn anything new. I think, what the thing is, is this: All of us that are in the mid 20's and up, well... we've realized that powder and dropping off of stuff into said powder is way more fun and forgiving than landing on your hip on an icy park jump, so you don't really see us in the park too much, but if you think that 27 is old... well, I hope that by the time you reach 27 you think otherwise.

The older I get, the more selective I'm with terrain... and I think that's key with age.

At almost 31 and still skiing harder each new day, there's always room for improvement. But I've been incredibly fortunate not have suffered any injuries as a result of being selective and understanding when something isn't worth it. Doesn't mean I don't fall, but do it enough when you're a kid, and you immediately learn how to fall with grace. I'm smart enough to know that I will never be a park guy and won't do the more simple of tricks, and that's what keeps me healthy. God bless you kids for pushing yourselves to the max every fucking time out. Give me big drops, steep landings, and I'm content.
