"A Croatian soccer professional was given a yellow card for taking a dive after suffering a heart attack during a game.
The match official produced the card in a game between Goran Tunjic’s Mladost FC and Hrvatski Sokol, according to Eurosport.
Prior to the match, the referee warned both teams about faking injuries or simulating tackles.
In the 35th minute, Tunjic, 32, reportedly fell to the ground unmolested. While the referee strode toward him with a yellow card in his hand, Sokol supporters let out a cheer of approval. Once he reached the player, the ref realized his mistake and summoned medical staff.
Tunjic was later pronounced dead.
“Doctors tried to help him but there was nothing they could do,” a club spokesperson told Croatian media. “He just fell dead on the spot.”
The scoreless game was immediately abandoned.
According to reports, Tunjic had no known health problems."
