This might be a little harsh, but I generally agree.
Every now and then, there's an edit that drops that's so fucking good/and or controversial/discussion worthy and it absolutely must be seen by everyone. In that case, making a thread is alright...BUT...the thread creator shouldn't be the rider/filmer. It's tacky to self-promote and plug your own shit. If it's good enough, it'll get the attention it deserves.
As far as the riding/edit:
It was pretty good...viewed strictly from a skill/trick quality perspective. As an edit, it sucked dick. Here's why:
I don't understand why you had to mimic everyone's fucking rideaway style, it looked incredibly forced and unnatural. I'm sure the response will be "dude, it's not serious, it's just for fun, blah blah", but the truth is that that "joke" is dead and has been done and anyone still doing that over the top/ironic/just for lol's "afterbang" is just riding pro dick and trying to be cool and/or really thinks it's looks good.
The hand gestures (crossing skis and pumping at camera, thug "what what", and smelling the fingers) are embarrassingly corny and played out. Why do it? Why do kids feel like they have to do EXACTLY what their precious little idols do? It's fucking skiing. Get a brain and a sense of individuality.
Dubstep. FIne, it's not bad music. But, it's so blatantly obvious that using it in an edit (that already contains the aforementioned wannabe bullshit) is a desperate attempt to align yourself with "the scene".
Basically, this edit embodies everything about skiing that makes it a fucking joke and the uncool trying too hard little brother to snowboarding. Why do kids do this? Is skiing really just a bunch of mindless trendwhores trying their best to look like whatever has already been cosigned as cool?
Annnnnd.....I'm done. Hate away, but most of you will agree with me, even if you won't admit it.
