Well that all depends on your height, your weight, what type of skier you are, what type of skiing you do the most, what you are looking for in a ski like length, width, flex, and weight, and whether or not you want to spend a bunch of money on new skis next year. Basically, we need some more info.
args reverse sidecut and has some rocker (pretty sure), and hellbents have rocker and are just flat underfoot. i rode hellbents for a season. i loved em. fun on everything, even pretty sick in the park only issue is they are just the slightest bit too soft. args are gonna be stiffer, and less playful on groomers.
If you ski nothing but pow, then ARG's are a great choice. The reverse sidecut makes them super nimble and pivoty in soft snow. They also have a very low swing weight since all of the weight is underfoot really. Much stiffer than Bents- so they will handle cut up pow better also and not get knocked around like Bents do. I wouldn't buy a R/R ski unless i had 3+ skis either.
Bents are fun too, but just too soft/heavy IMO. They have sidecut so will be more versatile and still really fun in pow.
i dont car about groomers, only ski pow in japan.. weigh 70 kg, skied all of last season on the 179 bents, thinking about the 185 ARG's. dropping off max 25 footas so want the best ski for that aswell. any other suggestions other than the bents or ARG's?
Reverse sidecut is the best thing ever done to a ski. Makes powder so fun, normal(ish) skis seem so wrong after reverse sidecut. I ski mine everywhere, I've hit the biggest kickers we have in out park on them(202 Lotus 138s), and if anything ARGs are easier to use everwhere(obviously, will suck in park and tight moguls. Smooth groomers are fun). You just have to change your style right.
From your info, I would say ARG. I got to ride a pair last year, and I shit myself they are so fun. They are a fairly stiff ski so you can charge crud like no other and the float is sick. Because of the tip and tail taper and the rocker, you can ski in the front of your boots while skiing pow and not tip dive. You can control how deep you want to go into the snow by leaning forward or leaning back, but you will never tip dive. Also, the ski is surprisingly light and the swing-weight is almost nothing. Probably the most fun ski I have ever ridden, and if your primary focus is pow, I highly recommend them. They aren't the best in hardpack, but once you get used to them they are certainly manageable and get you from one place to the other with out a problem. I feel like the ARG's will be a big step up from the Bent in terms of being able to charge crud harder, stomp airs better, and just all around ski everything harder and faster.
