Dumont's Weird Double

Embedding of the video is disabled, but at 1:26, he throws a curious double. It looks like a frontflip to underflip, and then some.

Does it have a name? Or maybe it's one of those antique tricks that no one throws anymore? It's not something I've ever seen, and technically should be quite difficult because of the change in momentum required Either way, it look pretty sick. Enjoy.




Also, it may be a repost. I had no idea what to search for.

This is two or three seasons old. and a big ol repost. That being said its interesting how Dumont was one of the first doing double flips and then just stopped doing them off jumps. He dosn't have double flips at all anymore.

He wasnt the first to be doing dubs, and double fronts with a twist(double full) are FARRRRRRRRRRRRRR from revolutionary.

Only recently has he began throwing more dubs. Peep the Team America JOSS video. You couldnt be more wrong.

What the fuck are you talking about, he won the XGames with a Dub front(as controversial as it may be), and if you took a look at this years JOSS edits; He stepped it up big time this year throwing dub 12s and more. i thought the same thing. He has definitely used it in 2008 and 2009 JOSS edits.

So it looks like Dumont just flirting with aerials?

it's a pretty standard aerials/gymnastics rotation. Looks pretty cool off a park jump but more as a joke..I wouldn't say it's very fresssh if you know what i mean

The 12 Dumont did in Joss was a dub wobble, not a real dub cork. Just looks like it because of the grab..

you and everyone else saying this is just an aerials maneuver are fucking idiots. no one does forward flips off aerials jumps. either know what you're talking about or don't talk at all. its pretty far off from any trick done in aerials.

you shut the fuck up. I never said aerielsts do forward flips off jumps but they do do back 1 1/2 to rudys and front 1 1/2 those are rotations are completely similar to what dumont did.

you say that its a pretty standard aerials rotation but then you say that aerialists never do it? just stop. people have got to stop limiting the progression of skiing by hating on tricks that to them, looks like another trick done in a sport they don't see as favorable.

Every good aerialist and gymanst can do a front full on a trampoline (trampolining is a huge part of being an good aerialist) whether or not they do that trick on snow. The spotting and arm movements techniques involved to do a front full are similar to the spotting and arm movements needed to do a back full...hence why I say a "standard aeriels/gymnastics rotation". To me, the inspiration for that trick come more from what i see in aeriels and gymnastics than what i'm seeing in the park and at X.

and don't tell me I don't see aeriels as favourable, you know shit all about what i think of aeriels..

why, hes speaking his mind and he has a point. gymnast's dont conceptualize setting frontflip rotations with two planks on there feet. Skis make setting the trick alot different than what they do in the gym or on an arial jump.
