Replying to Mt. Mancelona - anyone have info?

Whenever we drive up to Boyne or Nubs Nob we pass through Mancelona and when going north you can see what is left of Mt. Mancelona.  The trails are still visible and you can see some of the lifts.
Does anyone know when it closed?  I know it was because there were so many other big places around.
I've been trying to Google it, but can't find much.  I found this in a 1958 Sport Illustrated:
"Mt. Mancelona, Mancelona: 4 miles of trails. T bar 1,200/300/814; five rope tows. New: 3 rope tows; lodge; locker rooms; bar; new trail; lighting for Friday night skiing; hi-fi skiing music. Reservations: Mt. Mancelona Ski Club, Mancelona. Snow conditions: HAROLD AXTMANN, Mancelona, Justice 7-7491."

Let me know if anyone has any info or has been there.
