GoPro HD Polarized Filter?

So after filming with my GoPro, I've noticed that during cloudy, overcast days, the quality of the footage comes out much better than that of a sunny day. On these sunny days, the glare from the snow totally washes out the clarity of my shots. I have seen polarized filters for GoPro's on the market but am asking for any firsthand experience to see if it really makes a noticeable difference. Thanks

Polarizers make colors pop, and add detail in highlights. Never shoot snow without one.

a polarized filter works the same as a pair of sunglasses. next time you have a pair on, take them off and you'll be able to see the difference in color, contrast, and detail. buy one, it'll make your footage look a lot better.

I think he knows what a polarizer does, and is asking if the one made specifically for go pros is any good or worth buying. Unfortunately, I don't own a go pro to put one on.

Yea thanks. I found a couple that specifically state they are meant for the GoPro but I am wondering if one filter is better than another. I was looking at this one, http://cgi.ebay.com/NEUTRAL-DENSITY-FILTER-DISK-4-HERO-GOPRO-1080P-GO-PRO-/350327992137?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Camera_Filters&hash=item51912cef49 and it states it is 23mm. Will buying a higher end filter, if this isn't already, make a huge overall difference ?

i use the adapter kit for a contour hd so i can put a polarizer on it and i makes such a huge difference in sunny conditions...but the contour is more prone to washing out than the gopro

For the contour HD you can change the settings depending on lightin etc...

significantly darkens the image, so with a gopro it'd look pretty dark

with a more sophisticated camera i use polarizers everywhere except for indoors and night time. slows down your shutter speed a little but makes colors so much better. anyone shooting anything snow related should definitely rock a polarizer

i'm thinking about getting a 34mm-37mm step up ring, http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/98788-REG/General_Brand_34_37_34mm_37mm_Step_Up_Ring_Lens.html,
and gluing that to the housing, then just a 37mm filter

i measured the lens bubble on the housing is 25mm wide and the whole thing, actual lens + black ring is about 35mm

this will reduce the shutter on the gopro tho so just watch out for blur

I Just Bought this Filter: http://www.goprolens.com

It actually works surprisingly well for how Cheap it is,
I think It was like $10.
