National Merit Scholarship Letter

Just got a letter saying I was in the top 50,000 out of 1.5 million. Did anyone else get one of these/know what the cutoff is for the top 16,000? I got a 210 on the PSAT

I didn't think those were coming out til September. I got a 203, so we'll see, might be too low, but it was the 97th percentile, so I might be in the running. Who knows

If you got 99th percentile, you would hypothetically be in the top 15,000

i got one too, but i dont really think you should be focused on the cutoff. be thankful for the opportunities that the NMS provides its a great thing

I'm a junior. If I were you I'd just wait two years and take it again; you're only eligible for a scholarship/commendation if you take the PSAT as a junior.

To the guy above me, do colleges really look at the scores? (well, the two you're allowed to send your score to) I just never really thought PSAT was a big deal, except to get a scholarship from.

I believe last year it was 217, so it's probably close to that this year as well.
