Yeah but i'm talking about him going to the point of not even acknowledging Muhammad Ali, THE best boxer in the history of competitive boxing.  He hasn't earned that just yet.  Plus I don't think the fighters he has been competing with are comparable to the competition more famous fighters have fought in the past.  He thinks he is the best boxer EVER, but I definitely don't agree with that.

As far as Ali being the greatest tho I'd have to disagree he even acknowledged that sugar ray was the greatest ever...179 wins?? That guy was a beast

anyone who watched 24/7 should know. mosley called out maywheather and said her was faster than him. In my opinion i thing floyd is much faster than hum and that shane is only riding a wave. At the same time, one cannot deny that shane mosely has accomplished amazing things in his career and tomorrow should prove to be an AMAZING day

All I know is that I hope Mosely wins, Mayweather doesn't seem to have any redeeming qualities, except perhaps a strong work ethic. I hope for Mayweather's own sake that he has created an alternate persona for marketing himself, cause the dude is a douchebag. Not that Mosely is a good guy, just so much better in comparison.

floyd's a good fighter, his résumé proves as much, but he's too much talk, too much attitude.

manny on the other hand is humble and understated as a person which is refreshing in the world of boxing. as a fighter i think his footwork is superb and he's every bit as fast in the ring as floyd. the difference is that manny has more, and more potent weapons in attack. what he did to hatton last year was phenomenal. (even though i waited until 6am to watch the fight, paid £15 to watch it, and was rooting for ricky)...

He didn't really duck Pacman either. He wanted to do blood tests for steroids (which they are doing for the Mosley fight too) and Pacman wanted none of it.

Yeah but it kinda started with Pacman initially saying no.

Mosley vs Mayweather is interesting but honestly there are no matchups in boxing that are entertaining anymore... outside of the obvious Pacman vs Money fight.

mayweather is the best boxer of all time, and he will prove it again tonight. I know he's frustrating to watch but that's his style. He never gets hit, and basically every punch he throws connects.

I guarantee you a punch from mayweather is far from a paw on the face. As I said, that's his style, he's an intelligent fighter, and exerts the bare minimum required to win the fight. He wares down his opponents and stays injury free himself. It's the same way Hopkins fights and that's how he's been able to stay in the game longer than anyone else.

As you said, boxing is a sport, it isn't just a fight. So as of now, on paper, mayweather is the best boxer of all time. Nobody connections to punches thrown ratio has ever rivaled his, and in the sport of boxing that's what counts. Yes, he talks A LOT of shit. But the man is a machine, driven mainly by narcissism. He trains harder than everyone else, never drinks, smokes, parties, nothing, and this is a man who is guaranteed 40 to 50 million every time he steps into the ring.

Whoa quote city dude. MMA is a bunch of naturally talented fighters rolling on the ground putting their dicks way to close to their competitor's mouth and ass.

And I love it when people say that just because boxers don't have backgrounds in kickboxing they would get destroyed by any MMA fighter. It's like people like you just think that boxers are inable to use their legs. 'float like a butterfly sting like a bee' sound familiar? Mayweather could dance around any UFC fighter like nothing. They would never wrap him up.

He was 47 at the time of that K-1 fight... read up on your history. Mayweather would have been blasted by a kick from a comparable K-1 Heroes Kickboxer too and would probably feel the same effects. Ray Mercer is a former WBO HW Champ and an OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALIST! Mayweather was a Bronze medalist... bit of a difference there.

Mayweather has also been a boxer during the era where there are 12 different belts per weightclass and he has been able to pick and choose a lot of his fights. Mosley calling him out is the only reason this fight is happening.

well he wasn't a fat-ass when he won the olympic gold.. but you can rip on heavy weights all you want. In my opinion heavy weight boxers are all shitty and I do not care for them. The true athletes are mayweathers' size.

I could careless about someone's personal beliefs when talking about their standing as GOAT in terms of boxing or MMA but it is something that always gets brought up.

Ali WAS though in the first ever MMA fight too. Him vs Antonio Inoki (who was a Japanese Pro Wrestler that beat the shit out of Ali's legs in the fight)

Boxing from 1920-1980 > MMA

Jack Dempsey, Sugar Ray Robinson, Ali, Foreman, Marciano etc Classic fights, fighters had character, an actual good heavyweight roster

1981-1999 = MMA

Sugar Ray Leaonard, Roy Jones Jr, Tyson, Hopkins,
Fighters had character

Boxing 2000- < MMA

Pacman, Calzaghe, Mayweather. That's it. None of them had character except mayweather, who is a stuttering douche. too many weight classes, too much ducking etc.

Outside of like 16 different commissions I think this is the biggest problem that boxing has. Weight classes that have like 6lb difference from one 3 higher than them.
