Uploading pictures from 20D to PC

Anyone know how to do this? I've tried plugging my camera with the CF card into my computer via USB and it says "unable to successfully install driver" . Just got the camera today and can't figure it out. I read through the manual and must have missed it somewhere. Am i gonna need to buy a card reader?
