Magic Bullets Looks+ Edit critique

Hi guys, i'm not the most arsty person but i'd like to make a good season edit, about 3 mins long.
I've been doing this over the last few days.

If anyone could give me a pointers it would be great also whether its worth using a filter program like the magic bullets plug in

um there wasn't much MB stuff i saw that you couldnt do with a pretty simple colour correct....

Not bad at all. I would recommend staying away from MB on this one, as it would most likely end up taking away from the skiing and giving the over-corrected kind of look. A little 3-way color correct could go a long way though to give a little bit of consistency between shots.

In terms of the editing, stay away from the cuts to black. Between the timelapses in the intro just cut from one shot to the next and ditch the black. Also, the fade to black before the cliff drop felt a little forced and I didn't really get why it was fading until the beat dropped again.

Just some thoughts. Really sick skiing though- keep it up!

agreed, enough of playing with 3 way color correction could get you a great look with any clip. go on you tube and watch tutorials on how to make those not as sunny shots less flat lighted shots have more depth and contrast. great skiing. let me know if you want some tips on how

dont use color filters.. what are you using to edit?


play around with contrast brightness and saturation

Trying to learn how to embed photos. I would just use the 3 way color corrector. Maybe dable in MB looks here and there but make sure to adjust them to your images!

that was great, nice skiing, filming and editing.  to perfect it I would cut the clip at 2:00 with the water on the lense and the clip after that with the box unless you could get it to be the same screen size. Also take out the black segments. other than that I thought it was a sweet edit

I've made a few changes to the edit, taken some of you advice in.

Shuld anything be changed, I've got quite alot of footage so if you think theres stuff that isnt that good just say.

That was cool but I didnt like the cut at like 59 seconds maybe you could find some other way to incorporate both shots or just can one of them. But i saw you posted an updated version as I hit reply but havent watched it yet.

that random clip with you doing the flip (not on skis) wasn't reallly needed IMO
