I know the majority here doesn't give a shit about Seattle sports, but this is a pretty good film about how the whole Sonics relocation went down and why no team is truly safe regardless of their history.
This was a very sad moment for Seattle, had former Mayor Greg Nickles not accepted a 45 million dollar "bailout" to the city for the Sonics to leave, which is chump change for a city as large as Seattle, we would be watching them play the Lakers right now. The Washington Government also holds some responsibility in this, Steve Balmer the CEO of Microsoft offered up 150 million dollar donation for Key Arena renovations with Seattle matching 75 million and olny an additional 75 million needed from tax payers, but it was to little to late. And before people freak out about tax payers not being supposed to fund these things, keep in mind that both SafeCo field and Quest stadium were largely supported by tax payers. It is a long film so I dont expect many here to watch it, but if you are a fan of the NBA, then it is definatley worth your time.
