Renting an Xbox 360 game

I just finished a project and I'm gonna chillax on the couch and do something that requires no effort or mental exertion whatsoever: play a video game for the first time in forever. Problem: I don't know what's good because I haven't played a video game in forever. Solution: ask a whole bunch of teenagers on the internet. What should I rent?

just cause 2 looked pretty good so i rented it, but i'm in almost the same boat as you too busy

modern warfare 2 (i say this instead of bad company 2 cause i think its easier to get into. i think bc2 is awesome but for someone who's not into video games mw2 is probably the way to go)

skate 2 (closest thing to skiing you can find in a video game, if that makes sense)

Mass effect looks good. I don't care as much about shooting things as plot. Maybe I'll play the first one. Any good?

its amazing. think Grand Theft Auto but with a much bigger world, and much more to do. so much fun. i beat the campaign (agency missions) and still only have 29% of the game completed

I don't really like FPS that much, especially not those war sim FPSes. Can't get into running around shooting at people, just not my kind of game. Running around cutting people's limbs off is a different story though.

Can't wait until 10 P.M. Thursday, so I can be super lax like J.D.

4 Months of summer is 19 hours away.

Maybe I'll finally get to try NFS Shift on PS3, which I bought sometime around Christmas...Or can help my family conquer Bowser's castle on WII. They need me.

that game is getting so fucking boring...its no where near as good as cod4 (to bad my disc is broken)

can't wait for halo reach. should be so fun and it will drop the cod population significantly.

you should surely rent mass effect or mass effect 2 i just beat the second one when i rented it and it is the shit will keep you entertained without much thought for awhile.

I never played the first one, just the second. At first it doesnt make sense if you dont play the first, but then you realize what is going on. Still collecting the movie clips, but beat the game, amazing ending

The left 4 dead series sucks more balls than Jenna Jameson. It's fun to play if you're baked with your friends..but in terms of actual play value. It lacks.

If you into gorey fighting game then you should definetly look at Gods of War. No doubt the best cinematics i have ever seen in a video game. The fighting in it is so detailed is absolutely amazing

i played it through and was a little disappointed
they made it too easy as in the past you had to sneak around, conviction you could get away with waaay too much running and gunning

Yeah, if you attach someone to a gas cylinder (the ones that look like scuba tanks) and then shoot the tank, they get sent flying and then either blow up or fall and splat

You can also if you find a properly sized cylinder grapple onto it, then shoot it while grappled to it. It'll shoot you into the sky and you can then parachute down and RAIN DEATH UPON ALL WHO DISSENT!!!!

You're safe Gnartron, Mass Effect is great. I wish it was less like the KOTOR games (which suuuuucked as RPGs) but it is definitely a huge improvement on those for gameplay and presentation. The dialogue is really good. The dungeon crawling is a bit repetitive given that every $*!% planet is bascically identical, but that's okay.

J.D I know you're a mod, but you're waaaaaayyyy off base. You couldn't be any more wrong. Those are two of the best games I've ever played. I enjoy them more than Mass Effect. That's like saying Everquest sucks.

skate is really chill but not that addicting. i've always found rpg's to be ridiculously addicting. thats why i havent played one since i was in grade 9, shit takes over my life. bc2 or mw2. bc2 is less frustrating
