CRJ or EP Pro?

i have EP's and love them, but if your looking for something to makes turns i would say get the CRJ's no doubt about it.  EP's are pure powder really. 

go for the CRJs thats a sick deal on them if they are the right height for you...

both skis are pretty sick.

ep pro is deffinitley way more powder oriented, and if that is the skis sole purpose they will excel. if it is more all around that is comfy in pow then go for the crj.

CRJ is a way more usable ski in the soft. I recommend it.

Ok I've been leaning toward the CRJs the whole time and now I'm just leaning toward them even more but I'm curious about one more thing now. I know the EP Pros float on the pow better which is just kinda natural since they're bigger but does anyone know if there's a huge difference or do they both just float amazingly?

they both have decent amounts of rocker and will both float very sufficiently in the pow. i feel that the ep pros rocker will just take away from their all mtn performance

I got to ski on next years CRJ's and i've got to say i thought they were horrible. I felt like they were very unstable, not good for charging, and they turned really fucking wierd due to the dimensions. Had my friend hook me up with the EHP's instead and i can't even express how much better they were than the CRJ.

any clue how different next years are from this years? and how did you get to try next years model?

EPs will be much worse for cliffs, and $450 with bindings in good shape sounds like a much better deal. And you'll be pretty big for EPs if you ski moderately hard. Definitely CRJs.

I haven't skied on this years so i don't really know what differences there are. I got the hook up because i've got a couple friends who are ski tuners at the Alta ski shop. But like i said i would recomend EHP over CRJ if your going for 4frnt. Although if you don't like a stiff ski you probably won't like the EHP.

it would be sick to be able own both those skis in one quiver, but if your choosing between one or the other, Id def go with the CRJ. Its way more versatile and can shred anything, any day. I haven't heard any bad reviews on the CRJ's yet, but I have heard quite a bit of criticism on the EP's, especially at your size...they can tend to toss you around a little. And, the added bonus of the CRJ is one of the dopest graphics ever....

well, this is the first person I've heard bashing on the CRJ...but if he likes stiff charging skis I could see why.....

I have EPs and absolutely love them. after getting a massive core shot in my park skis (Rossi BCs) the eps have been my everyday new england ski. I have skied them in every condition from 9 foot storm cycles  in Alaska to shitty end of season stuff last weekend at sugarloaf, and they rule. You can, contrary to popular belief, lay down real crisp turns and because they are so soft you can either lay them down and rip huge gs turns, or flex them into real tight slalom style turns. they are way fun in park and are surprisingly nimble on rails, they can wash out on big jumps if you land backseat, but I have never stomped tricks harder than on my EPs. In pow, they are unreal. so floaty and surfy, and really torsionally stable, so you can really smear well on them. on cliffs they are sick too. again, if you land backseat you will get fucked (I got a concussion doing that this year) but because of the pretty centered mount and generous tip rocker, you can land balanced over your midsole and not go over the handlebars. I have hit 30 footers no problem with them, but I think they should be ok up to maybe 50 ft, depending how well you can stomp it haha. One thing most people fail to mention is that they are a 5 dimensional ski, like the JJs. they have early taper, so they actual turning radius is much tighter and the tips are less prone to hooking, it greatly helps their performance on hardpack. I absolutely love these skis and would for sure buy them again.

as for the CRJs, my dad demoed a pair in kirkwood and I rode them a bit. they are a much different ski. they are much less jibby, but are more stable. I would imagine them to be not as good in pow, but better in crud. EPs can be pretty scary in chop, but you learn to tame them haha,

oh and i am 6'2 155, so we are close to the same size, for what thats worth.

Sparknotes: EPs for fun and pow, CRJs for stability. id still go EPs though haha

When I was working in my shop, I would hand flex the EP's and they were just WAY too soft for my personal taste. I would throw those things around way too easily, and just be too scared to really get after it. But thats just me. I'm 6'5 200.

I was in a shop the other day and hand flexed EPs and too my surprise they were stiffer than all this talk of how unbelievably soft they are. just my 2 cents and i plan on buying some.

one point of clarification: how skis hand flex in a shop is a pretty poor indication of their performance on snow. EPs are real soft tip and tail, but their underfoot is surprisingly stiff. you can generate lot of power in your turns because of this, and this isnt something you can tell by hand flexing. Also, many people who comment about skis havent skied both, or even one, so take whatever advice you get with a considerable grain of salt haha

i love my CRJs.  they are a super playful ski.  they float really well in powder and when there is no powder you can still easily turn.  this year i started to get more into big mountain skiing and i felt they did really well for charging down steeps and going off cliffs.  as you are 6 foot 3 i would definitely recommend you get them in the 188 not the 180.  also i have never skied on ep pros so my opinion is a little biased but i have had so much fun on the crjs and i feel you'll like them as well

out of the 2, CRJs, they will be more stable then EPs, but will lack a little in float. if you want something with the float of EPs and the stability of CRJs, on3p caylors would be a great option

yeah lots of people tell everyone looking for some pow skis to go for the caylors but i never really looked into them and probably won't since i can't get a good deal. right now i like the CRJ feedback better so i think i might jump on that deal tomorrow unless someone sways my mind pretty soon

Def go CRJ's. They are a way more versatile ski but still kill it in the pow.
