I just bought a new pair of powder skis, and was just gonna throw the bindings from an older pair of skis onto them. until i realized, oh shit, the waist sizes are miles apart. (like probably about 36 mm, i don't have them in front of me.) So is that too extreme? will i need to buy new bindings or can they be bent that much?
Pretty sure your old skis from what late 90's, early 2000's have a wider waist than 36mm. I have a pair of K2 55500 from 1993 and they are 72mm at the waist. I would only bend the brake if say going from a 85mm to a 95mm waist. I wouldn't go from 85mm to a 120mm waist, way to much and your likely going to break the plate or screw up the binding.
and i dunno the exact binding since they're two hours away at my parents place, but after a quick google search, i think they're the salomon z10's from about 4 years back.
