The Century Club

So this weekend, to celebrate the end of school, my friends and I will try to join the century club.

They speak of it as though it's the accomplishment of a lifetime, although I'm not convinced? It seems easy enough to me? We used to bong 3 beers at once, so this can't be nearly as bad?

Is anyone here a member?

For those who don't know; it's a shot of beer a minute for 100 minutes. Works out to a little under 8 beers.

Only one of two made it last time. The other blew chunks. I wasn't present.

I'm pretty sure you can do whatever...just when the click ticks to the next minute, the shot had better be at your lips.

My buddy failed once b/c he was takign a piss...sucks!

dude... 21 shots is pretty harsh. that's a right of passage i dont endorse, one of my sisters friends ended up in the hospital.



but this century club thing sounds like childs play.

It's Beiruit, but the triangles touch in the middle of the table so that it looks like an hourglass. Here at Lehigh we play with 3 money cups per side (the cup is filled all the way to the meniscus and when you hit it, you choose who takes it. The table we play on here makes it so that the back row is 16 cups, so basically it's 16 back ruit (272 cups).

You play with two 30 racks, so it's 30 beers per side, and teams can be 3 or 2 people. Normal ruit rules apply. It's basically the greatest game ever, but you need trashcans available, because you'll almost inevitably vomit. It's awesome.

centruy club is fantstic, but heres the secret so you don't projectile. Crack open like 3 beers to let the carbonation out of them so its easier to put down the shots. So once your finished a beer crack another one, untill you have completed the task. A buddy of mine whose a tank did the double century this way.

Haha yeah man. We play that if you hit the same cup as your partner, before the other team picks the cup up, you kill the entire back row. My friend and I killed 3 back rows in this game haha. I felt so bad watching them struggle through all the cups though.

But, how long do you play for?

I'm assuming it must take at LEAST an hour?

So, beer sittign at room temperature, in a cup, for an hour....after you've had 0-29 already...

Haha yeah dude, seriously. A game takes anywhere from an hour to two and half.

A few racks in, the beer's warm, and you're on the struggle bus. Once you get it down to normal 6 back you're fucking HAMMERED, but you can't help but feel relieved at the sight of a normal ruit rack.

We always play it the day before we're about to go dry and can't drink leading up to a big track meet. I HIGHLY recommend it. It's so much fucking fun.

LOL, your choice. You must have the nicest friends in the world if thats the case. Some of the drinks that I was served on my 21st:

Dick in the dirt - 151 and Wild Turkey 101 in a tumbler

3 Wise Men - Jack Daniels, Jim Beam and Jose Cuervo in a tumbler

Purple Jesus - 2 oz Bicardi 151 and a splash of Blue Curacao

Dead Nazi - Jager, Rumplmize and 151 (I kinda like these though)

Plus whatever other people at the bar that find out its your bday decide to put in front of you. It is a fun night at first, but it goes downhill fast. I remember waking up the next morning shocked I didn't have a hangover.... I was still hammered. The onset of the hangover didn't even begin until 6 pm the next night.

Side note, worst shot I've ever had: Dirty, Greasy Mexican.

Lost a bet on a game of pool and loser had to drink one.
-House Tequila, mayonnaise and tobasco. Needless to say I puked after that one.

I figured this thread was about skiers who have dropped cliffs over 100 feet.

Anyway, I tried a double power hour a couple years ago, and quit after about an hour and a half because my friends were puking. If you've never tried it, you'll be surprised how much the 80 to 100 shot range starts to fill you up. Fun stuff regardless.

I've done it twice, didn't think it was too hard to accomplish but you will be pretty fucked after it.

First time I did it we had double shot glasses but we didn't know, ended up getting really far ahead of the pace and had to cut back, ended up puking at like min 73, came back caught up with my shots and finished. Ended up drinking like 10 beer for that one.

Second time used normal sized shot glasses and finished fairly easy drinking standard 7.5 beer. The hardest thing to do a 'real' centurion is not take a piss during the whole thing.

Wow I must have been fucked up when I counted that night, because I just counted in the picture, and it's definitely 19 back.

Yup. 19 back. 190 cups per side, 380 total. Good times.

do you have to use a shot glass? or can you just take big hauls off of beers? seems too easy, i'm sure i've drank 8 beers in less than an hour and forty. it doesnt take very long to drink a beer if your trying to drink as many as possible, which i do frequently.

a one ounce shots is ~30ml
which equals 3000ml or 3L
3000/355 (beer can) is ~8.45beers
3000/330 (beer bottle) is ~9.09beers

regardless it sounds fun, but being a cheap drunk girl that I am, I would never be able to do it

In my college town we had a thing called "running the taps" which is exactly how it sounds,drink a pint of everything they had on tap which was 12 beers and finished off with a black and tan. To many seasoned drinkers, this doesnt sound to hard, but something about drinking a different beer for all of your drinks.... wow, this shit seriously got me fucked up. Fun though and you get a shirt once you do it!

Nobody really does this. Sure, tons of free shots, but not 21 of them. Unless you are gonna be at the bar all day, its not recommended. Especially if you are trying to do it in just a few hours. I know a few people that have tried, and they all ended up having their stomachs pumped. Besides, chances of getting laid improve dramatically on birthdays. it's not fun learning about whiskey dick the hard way...

what kind of pussy ass place do you take your shots???

TO CLARIFY BECAUSE NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW WHAT A SHOT IS:

one shot is 1.5 fluid oz.
1.5 fl oz = 44.36 ml
44.36 ml x 100 shots = 4436 ml of beer!

4436 ml of beer/355 ml per beer = approx 12 beers


100 SHOTS IS 12 BEERS NOT 8, YES CAPS IS NECESSARY.

unless you're from Australia or India or somewhere were 1 shot is 1 oz, but here in North America one shot is 1.5 oz.

that being said, I don't think it's possible to consume 12 beers in an hour and 40 minutes without barfing cause your stomach cannot hold that much. The average stomach can hold about 2-3 litres.  This is a significant amount more and your body cannot process enough liquid in that amount of time to be able to piss the excess out.

Not to be the party pooper or anything, I'd still try it cause who knows. But prepare for a rough night.

I don't wanna get you angry again, but in germany one shot is usually 4cl. (=40 ml)
all together you would have 4 Liters to drink.
Because we usually drink 0.5 liter cans or bottles that would be exactly 8 beers.

That's what i thought, too. the peeing is the hardest part. But if it's ok to pee as long as you drink once a minute, you just have to be really fast.

i've done it, but i find that in order to stay occupied since a minute actually goes by pretty fast... my friend happened to have this thing on his either phone or ipod that made a song change every minute indicating when we would have to take the shot of beer. Besides that its more of a chilling game with the bros

why did you just do it by oz? 1.5 x 100 = 150 oz = 12.5

most shots are anywhere from 1-3oz but most people pour a 1oz shot for century club = 100 oz = 8.33 beers.

fuck the metric system and Canadian schools for teaching it to me. I only know a beer as 355ml hence the converting to mills. gay, I know. but 1 oz shots for it would be fun as hell

So, four guys and one girl (my girlfriend) went for it.

The girl outdrank everyone, it was fucked. She ended up puking, but that's because she took an irish car bomb at minute 101...that killed her.

Another guy failed, because his girlfriend came and bitched him out HARD for 51 minutes...there was no making that up.

For myself, I found it as a fairly easy task. I opened the beers in advance, I think that helped...I was also drinking a variety of beer (Alexander Keiths, Blue, Bud, Richard's white & red) which kept things exciting. At the end of it, I was still feeling alright, was able to finish the last 1/2 of my beer (9 total).

My verdict: it's a superb pre-drink game. Gets you sauced to a point where you're feeling good, but not sick...maybe play for 80 minutes or so before going out.

Would highly recommend to anyone.

1oz shots though.
