Canada's Joss Edit=Horrendous.

Canada's videography may have been good, but the entire 10min edit only consisted of TJ Schiller double flipping. Everything was TJ and they had all of 2sec of urban shots. Good to know the entire 4 or so days that it was raining there Canada sat on their asses while everyone else was shooting urban. Not to mention the Canadian folk music was boring as fuck.

I really couldn't agree more. The whole edit was extremely repetitive with TJ Schiller doing the same double flips off  the jumps. I feel like team Down Under, Newschoolers and all the other teams put much more effort into their edits. I noticed the same thing that the edit had basically no urban, urban is what makes the edits unique and each edit has the same jump but not every team hits the same urbans. I didn't really find the "hey lets hit urban" that funny either, because while the weather was shitty in Are all the other teams were out getting the shot on urban features and Team Canada completely sat on their ass.

Bottom line I feel the edit was over hyped and I now I understand why Team America  was upset about the judging.

^even if canada should have lost( i think it deserved the win hands down) team america was still blown away by NS and Norway- from a ski level to a filming level- they really didnt deserve any better than 3rd imo if it was based only to the ski aspect of it- norway straight up murked everything

I agree. Team Canada had cool stuff in it, but team NS really had amazing editing and showing all of the people to their full potential. NS also seemed to have the most variety of spots and so many different tricks and styles.

I never said anything about America deserving to win I just said I could see where they were coming from. I honestly dont think America or Canada deserved anything in the top 3

couldnt disagree more that edit was so fresh... like honestly is all you want to see the same repetive shit over and over double flips urban pretzels and gay rave music.... the music was awesome the vibe was great thats what an edit is all about man im sad for what skiiings future is if people didnt like that video

canada should not have won, simply because they had no urban, and chug kept saying "we are not hitting urban", and urban was 1 category of the judging, so yes the judging was fucked, but hopefully it gets worked out for next year, and all the teams are informed of what it is.

yea dog i disagree with you.

the edit was complelety different from others. much more "in their life", more fun, more inspirational to have a good time and go skiing. people may say that they used "cheesy" music, but it was something different, showcasing a different approach to ski edits. These days all you hear is the same gangster beat (not that i dont like rap) or some techno shit, but this was completley different, and it also showed who/what they are representing- CANADA.

its all personal opinon, but there is my argument to why i think it deserved the win.

Yes, maybe skiing wasn't as tight as team NS or America or what not, but the whole video was simply off. the. hook. The vibe, the music (no it's not rap or electro music, it's different. and that's actually what's nice about it). I have to say NS put a good mixtape together, but imo Canada had best one.

i thought the music made it that much better because it wasn't techno or hip hop, which is usually all there is in skiing edits lately. what canada lacked in urbans and doubles, they made up for in originality

I didnt find it super super funny. I mean yea there were hilarious parts, but for a large middle portion of the vid I was just thinking and the rest of the funny comes now?  Team Schiller really needs to learn some new tricks, double flips got super boring.

yeah sorry to keep the hate up but id be pretty pissed if i lost to that video too (and im definitely not a dumont/wallisch fanboy), the music was just mediocre, the humor was meh (not to mention half of it was recycled from movies) and the tricks werent nearly as good as the other videos' (not to mention the almost total lack of urban). oh and the editing was annoying, way too many cuts

/hate hate hate. sorry just my opinion

i didnt think the skiing was too good. i didnt think it was funny. the music was pretty sweet. other than that...music doesnt make an edit. my 2 cents. canada should not have been anywhere close to first place. even the top 3.

1. Team NS
2. Team Norway
3. Team America

imo my top three of most creative and best skiing.

Yes this video was funny, but the skiing was just not up to par. In my opinion I think that team newschoolers, team down under, and team america had the best videos. But I have to give Canada some credit for being creative

ARE YOU FUCKING STUPID!? that edit had TWO doubles flips thrown in it making 4 shots!.......TWO!   if i remember correctly, thats less than any other edit.  team canada deserved this win,  it was the only edit with a good vibe compared to the others that consisted of rap or techno music and double flips

And you know what, if I remember right, there were only 2 categories out of 5 that consisted of filming, so canada must of had to do pretty well in those other 3 which were skiing categories.....

I really dont understand what was so unique about the skiing in team Canada's edit?

perhaps someone can enlighten me but the only thing that i can think of is that they did no rails, thus making their edit half as good because rails are an important part of the sport and the contest.

without rails and other "urban" shots the jumping just got a little repetitive

honestly.. I think team canada deserves the win. The intro was so well edited (rest of the video too) and the entire video was fun to watch. Not boring at all. They just show us that they dont need dub flips to win the biggest contest of the year.

very true, i actually enjoyed the music, was a good break from all the rap and techno.  No their skiing wasn't as good as norway or NS but it was still a great video. 

Contest is over though so there's no point debating over who shouldve, could have or would've won, canada won and thats that.

ok ok, i get where you're coming from and i can see why people are mad at the judging, but a big part of it was based on what makes you want to get up and ski and i guess the majority of the judges thought it was Canada that did that. and i can see why because of the music and not serious vibe to it

I also feel like Canada's was an amazing edit and good vibe, but overal impression was only one category. What about Urban? what about the Skiing? It didnt have those which it was being judged on. I loved team canada's edit, in fact i think i like it more than team norway, NS and americas edits, BUT it just didnt Deserve the win.

Amen.  All these little 15 year old park rats (this coming from a 19 year old park rat) don't have the same appreciation for uniqueness, creativity, and quality as they should.  Someone needs to drop some knowledge on these kids.  Canada won, get over it.  I am glad I didn't have to/never will have to judge these videos because I don't think I could pick one over the other.  They all were amazing, but I must say that watching the Canada edit made me want to go out and ski with my buddies, which to me is what skiing is all about.

I am also 19, and not a total park rat. I just didn't find canadas edit overly entertaining... it just didnt hold my interest. i enjoy the concept of canadas video, but i think the execution was off.

Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but before you go calling people out for "sitting on their asses", maybe you should realize that Dorey got injured over there which is why he didn't get many shots.

That being said, the shots he did get were fucking awesome and his double is so sweet.

It's a film/edit contest, not a trick contest.

Canada had by far the best cinemtography, editing, quailty, flow and feel. Personally I don't give a shit about urban so it didn't bother me.

NS was second in my opinion, great music, editing, cool idea with the dream thing (and they pulled it off well), great editing and pretty good cinemtography.

Norway I'd put tied with NS, hard to say who was 2nd/3rd, crazy tech stuff, and I like the song (it was good in Eyes Wide Open as well). 

After that I would put Down Under, USA, Europe and Sweden, not sure what order, EU/Sweden definitely were not on the same level as the rest.

well think of it this way. team NS did tons more urban than jumps, and their jumps were mediocre at best. the urban was SICK. Canada does more jumps than rails and all of a sudden they suck? Canada's edit showed more friendship, having fun, and "ski life" than the other edits. Their music wasn't G'd up for 95% of NS's likings but I think the music fit the edit well. Don't get me wrong I like some other edit's better including Norway's and Australia's. But don't rip into them like they suck completely. I'm sure its hard to compare edits too because its not rail vs rail, or jump vs jump, its a mixture of both. Who cares about the judging, they all had fun, kicked ass at skiing and made us wish we were as good as them.
