What car should i get?

hahaha- what a failure of a car purchase- you have fun with your 250hp brah- if your going to get something realatively quick at least a gti or wrx- buy a mk3 gti vr for about 5 grand- turbo it- have 350 hp and not look like a total douchebag driving down the street-

i could give you a list of faster cars for 10k. but i think it would take me about...24 hours to compile it. and none of the cars on the list would come close to 10k to start out. its all about the parts you put in after market.

its so dumb to judge a car based on how "fast" it is, especially when fast means straight line acceleration only. 
if you want to buy a car just because its faster than the next car, then have fun probably ending up with a pos that drives like shit. 
i guarantee i could find plenty of cars that are faster for 10 grand, dont suck ass in corners, and arent a fucking neon, some for half the price.  ive seen tons of talons and eclipses with a shit ton of power going for like 6 grand, nothing id ever be into but its better than a neon.
you can get s50 (e36 m3 engine) swapped e30's for well under 10 grand, sometimes around 5. and if you want to be lame and have as much power as possible, then find a supercharged one, they will get close to 350-400 hp.  and still drive amazingly, have great feel, great build quality, and look awesome. 

sti swapped 2.5 rs's can be found for around 10 grand.

really if i were you, i would not be like every other shitty young driver in a lame car and dont worry about power, get something that handles well, has good feedback, rwd, reliable and fun, and learn how to drive.  it takes alot more skill to make a slow car go fast than it does to make a fast car go fast, every kid 16-25 thinks they are the shit if they shift quickly in their boosted ricer.  but it doesnt take skill.

and once you own a lower power sports car you will realize how stupid everyone is for freaking out about having as much power as possible.  a good driver doesn't need power to have fun, just a well balanced car with decent grip, and good feel, thats it.

so my advice would be, go buy a miata, e30, 190e, older late 80's? rx7, 944, etc... you could even find an e36 m3 for 10 grand.  but just learn to drive well first.

op, go with 3, its cleanest, and they are all probs stock.  fuck the haters, get the car you want, if you dig srts, and can afford one get it!  but im pretty sure any sti is gonna walk you where ever you might be, twisties, or on the highway.

dude, my base saab 9-3 romps gtis(stock) as long as we aint going from a dig, and it still might from a dig.  and the neon your shit talking has about 50 whp more than your car has, stock.

saabs are sweet, soo underrated, i drove a viggen and for having only 225 hp it very impressive, they must just do a really good job with gearing or just have awesome powerbands, plus it drove super well around corners. usually im not a fan of fwd, but if its something small like a saab or golf its ok.

lots of vigs dyno close to 225 whp stock, they are fun, my car handles like poop though haha, the gearing kills it for highway pulls though, third gear at 60, pulls soooo damn hard.

the lesson behind the second rx7 and the last 350 is wear a condom, otherwise you have to sell your car.

people dont buy SRT-4's because they look pretty, they buy them because they are cheap and have a stock block that can handle 500HP without opening her up.

as far as your choices, get the most stock looking SRT you can find, then throw a big turbo at it.  i'm not sure what they are tunning with at this point, back when i had my SRT i used the DTEC fuel controller, but i imagine by now they can probably reflash the car...

if i was in your position, i'd probably rather have a 240 or something, but thats probably because i relized very quickly how gay the SRT-4 was....

sorry to break it to you, but srt 4's are just straight up rice. i dont care how tune-able they are or how big the turbo is. its still a dodge neon, which is one of the ugliest cars known to mankind. if youre looking for a tune-able car thats not as ricey/ugly looking, get one of the older mazdaspeed3's. best performing car for that price range

im reading a lot of the comments on here, and im starting to realize that ns loves subarus and vdubs way too much. im a huge vw fan, i have an 08 r32 and i put a lot of money into modding it. but everyone is wrong when they say an sti or gti will easily walk an srt4 anyday. a stock srt4 can easily beat a stock gti in a straight line, maybe even a gti with an ecu flash. and an srt with a tune could probably beat an sti off a 40 roll on the highway considering the sti's AWD and the srt's FWD, and easily beat any stage1 gti

you might not care about how your car looks, but i still strongly suggest that you pay an extra 2-3 grand for an older mazdaspeed3. with just a chip youll be keeping up well with evo's/sti's, and probably even beat most srt4's, wrx's, gti's, etc.

GET A NICE FAST CAR , THEN TALK SHIT

haha- i would absolutey rape your shit- i have 575 at the wheels on 93- i am getting a e85 tune and all of my numbers are on a musatng awd dyno- not some shitty dynojet- to give you an idea- a stock gt-r only runs 410 on this dyno- i highly doubt your parents would push anything over 600- and i weigh about 500 pounds less

oh and to give you an idea what its going to be like- this is chriss as central florida turbo- he has a similar setup to mine - the only difference being that he has water-meth spraying into his fm- i am running a larger fm than he is- besides that- pretty much as close as you can get

Why would you buy a car based on speed?  You don't need anymore speed than the car already comes with. 

Buy a normal car, something with good reliability and put subs in it.

as ugly as the srt4s are, they're definitely sick cars. so easy to slap a big turbo on and be running 500hp with them. i'd get the one with the least mods, cause you know the modded ones have been beat to shit. everyone on here always rides subarus nuts, talking about get a wrx or sti...they don't know shit. good choice on cars, coming from a mazdaspeed 3 guy. oh and unless you're looking for big numbers i'd look at the speed 3's as well.
