Canon HV30

I did searchbar this and found nothing useful so sorry if this is a repost.  I'm looking at getting the Canon HV30 and it seems pretty decent.  Anyone have one or would recommend it?

Have one, I would recommend going solid state though, maybe either the hf or hg series by cannon. If your set though with getting an hv30 there great, easy controls, nice picture quality couldn't complain.

I have one and it's great, just playing back video on the camera is a bit of a hassle since you have to rewind the tape and stuff.

I've heard that sometimes the audio quality is a bit poor, is this true you think?  I've also been looking at the sony FX7 which is a lot more money, so i'm leaning towards the HV30 at the moment because of the price really.

All tape video cameras require you to rewind it to watch it.. You can watch the last 5 seconds instantly though. 

I have had no trouble with the HV30 and sound quality.

the canon hv30 is basically the premier camera under 1000 bucks. picture is great. optics are crisp. sound is great..ive filmed live concerts with it and it sounds real legit. i love the thing and if u know how to use a camera..u can come up with some really sick shots. especially if u no the little cell phone trick that locks the gain

such a sick camera check out this edit it was filmed on a hv40 but there practicaly no diffrenve in hv30 and 40

That's so sick!  Quality is awesome for a camera this cheap.  Deffs think i'm going to go ahead and get it.  are you shooting with any of the extra add-ons like the extra mic or lens or just stock?
