Full-Time Position Open at ON3P

Rowen and I are looking to bring on a new full-time employee here at ON3P. Figured some of you might be interested...

Position is immediately available. Located in Portland, OR.

For those not local to the NW, we are also trying to fill a spot in our apartment in NW Portland. Great apartment in an awesome part of town, pretty affordable, month to month, tons of bars and other fun stuff with walking distance, if that might help your decision a bit....

I must stress - please remember we are a ski manufacturer. Regardless of what skills you bring to the table, a large part of the year we are going full steam ahead with production. It is difficult work with long hours, but for the right person very rewarding. Plus....we do like to ski occasionally and I don't think I am too much of a dick boss....so not a bad place to work I would say....

YES!! If Trunek got a job with ON3P, I would be way stoked. This kid is smart, creative, and has some sick ideas for future ski gear. Highly recommended!!

If there is anyone that deserves this job its Matt. He was my boss for park & pipe crew this year, also worked as event coordinator, and just generally killed it. The guy can weld, build and fabricate, drive a cat, all while being a full time college student. The other benefit of hiring him would be that he is graduating with a marketing degree in a few weeks so you'd be killing two birds with one stone.

Basically what I am saying is hire him so I can get free stickers and schwag.

Man if I wasn't in school I'd be all over this.

To be honest, I doubt you will ever see an ON3P binding. Our insurance costs are already fucking huge. Bindings add a zero or two to that. I am perfectly content staying as far away from bindings as possible :D.

Even if you need a few more days to gather your resume or cover letter, can you guys shoot me an email with a quick bio? We have well over 100 resumes right now and are trying to start processing them, so the sooner you can get something into us, the better.

Look Scott, I know she's kind of young approaching kindergarten, but Hannah has expressed her interest in "skis." She doesn't really have anything to bring but humor and endless energy. I'll just bring her by next time we're in town.

Just ask Luke and Casey - Hannah always makes the skis sweeter.

if only this was next year when I was graduating in about 2 weeks. I live on the east coast, but its my dream to get a job in the ski industry, and getting started in an up and coming company would be a perfect fit. Maybe by next year you will be even bigger and need another employee.

Btw what type of education do you want the person to have? College grad? if so what type of degree? ill be a business grad next year so im curious.

Also, as someone who has seen rowen and Scott work, this is a job you need to be dedicated to. It looks hard, tiresome, and not a whole lot of fun, but rewarding at the end of the process.

College gives you the practice to work under stress and make deadlines, and thats hugely important. Scott and I are both Bio Majors though, so its the ability more than book-learning you may have learned in college. Good motivation should stem from your dedication and interest in skiing.

I wonder how many people apply just because they think it's cool, and how many people have legitimate experience in a shop.  Even when the stuff you're making is awesome, it can be incredibly frustrating and tiring.  Building furniture is fun, but I have pulled some hair over the years.

I would like to work in a shop full time, but I can't make a career choice like that right now.  I hope to build furniture full time when I don't care about money anymore and can do whatever I want.

I'm glad you guys realize this.  I applied with a forest management degree from the best forestry school in the world but do photography and graphic design on the side.  as a wildland firefighter i know about hard work and long, long hours. 

definitely stoked on this opportunity

i got a call from Rowen on Thursday April 29th and did a small phone interview with him the next day. said they were gonna try to schedule second interviews in the next week or so

I was gone the past week for my brothers graduation in Colorado and just got back. As was said above, we had a ton of applicants and had to go through over 130 people. But people should start hearing stuff this week.

Thanks for the response Scott.  I had spoken with Rowen and left a few voicemails at the shop but never heard anything back.  It sounds like you guys had an overwhelming response.  If ON3P doesn't work out, I think I'll be heading to SLC.  I am trying to plan a trip to Vegas for July 4th weekend and then planning on visiting PDX or SLC the 5th and 6th.  Just trying to figure out which route I should take.
