WATCH! Discuss, this is truly a good, moving movie. Brings up a lot to debate about and i have to write an essay on it for my contemporary issues class tomorrow. Might be one of my all time favorite movies. DISCUSS DAMMIT!

crash fucking sucks. all it is was a bunch of stereotypes fighting each other. its a pity that half of america is a bunch of dumb fucks who think it was inspirational and original. jesus, thats like praising scary movie 4 as the best horror film of all time.

Crash doesn't have shit on Shawshank.  I found the dialogue to be clunky, and the stories didn't flow as well as they could have. The Shawshank Redemption was a gem of a film. Nearly perfect.

ah i see, i take back that it is better then shawshank, as that is a timeless classic, yet i felt it was a good movie, and i thought the plot pieced together decently, i mean its not the best movie ever, yet its interesting and discussable.

Shawshank was the better movie. Crash was good. Saw it in 05 or 06. Way delayed and ranom thread. Omg i saw a five year old movie, Ill make a thread.

Thats an oversimplification, Crash is a really good movie. I could write a bunch about how it provokes thought beyond the obvious morals of the movie. Anyways, it was well written and filmed. +k for posting it I forgot about it for years

crash is maybe one of the worst movies to ever win an oscar for best picture (probably not as bad as shakespeare in love) completely unoriginal, and like skiierman said, it only promotes the same old racial stereotypes

i agree with ben too, do the right thing is so interesting - at least for me - go watch it w/o doing any research and then go read about the message spike lee was trying to send or at least how he interpreted the story, that will actually make you think and give you some real controvery

overall, if you really want to look at racial contemporary issues, documentaries are the way to go....find a local independent theater in your area and i guarantee you will learn way more shit that way

yeah you forgot about it for years because it blended away as just a bunch of stereotypical races fighting each other which sucks to watch. its like all the people in crash are as stereotypical as fucking white people in a spike lee film. man i wish i had the ability to repress memories like you do, especially with such shitty movies around- like this one.

shawshank= amazing

crash= pretty good

american history x= damn good (stupid kids that don't understand it and love the curb stomping ruin it for me)

tmnt 2- the secret of the ooze= blows everything else out of the water

the chase= prob the best charlie sheen movie imo

actually this is one of my favorite movies as well. i enjoyed the cast and acting a lot. i'm not big on cookie-cutter movies so this one was awesome for being so different

the makers of crash said they didn't want the movie to become a debate on racist, but rather how are individual actions can effect the lives of others.  that was the plot.  race was just woven through out it.

Okay so one time I was watching The John Dore Show on IFC and after it ended it was like "the movie crash is up next on IFC" so I'm like oh shit, I heard thats a tight movie, and at this point it was like past midnight and I was too tired to grab the remote or get up, so I just sat there.

Then the movie comes on, and there was like some weird ass people and like every other scene alternated between a car crash and people fucking in cars.  Now at this point I was like wtf is this shit, but I'm like oh I guess its one of those weird indie films, so I keep watching.  The movie was like almost halfway done and at this point I'm kind of suspicious cause I thought Don Cheadle was in it (hes my favorite african american actor since I saw Boogie Nights).

Anyway I watched the whole thing, I'm pretty sure the Crash movie that I watched was about how people are turned on sexually by car crashes.

The final scene was amazing.  Basically the main guy and girl get into an accident and their car rolls off the highway and they're like pretty banged up, but anyway they get out of the car and start fucking like on the side of the hill for like 5 minutes then the camera pans out and credits roll.

precise statement? where the fuck do you live where everyone is running around committing crimes and everyone is a different race, but they all hate each other and call each other racial slurs? yeah movies are for telling stories, but deserve to be hated if the story is shitty. nothing else. just because its about a serious subject matter, a movie doesn't automatically deserve praise. but then again, some people love new-era steven segal movies so i can believe that you truly think that crash was a good movie.

no but seriously i just watched shawshank again a few days ago and damn it's fucking good. only movie that's gotten me legitimately sad when brooks went out into the world. it's rare to have that good a movie have that happy an ending
