for sure a repost, although "luckiest snowboarder" didnt give me any results.
BUT my question is if anyone has some info whether this is fake. my opinion is, that if its true, it features the a crazy catdriver and the baddest mofo of all time because he jumped over a driving cat and didnt even look back.
my points that its fake:
snowboarder just stood up and rode along, no sign of extra excitement.
cat just kept on moving (a short stop, but this is necessary when you enter a flat surface).
the plain impossibility of finding a catdriver who is dumb enough to drive uphill on an open landing between 9 am and 4 pm
how and why would they fake that? you can clearly hear people yelling not to hit the feature, and perhaps the cat driver was setting up the landing for use or a comp or something and the jump was actually closed and the dude just went for it anyway?
First the fact that the cat skips like it's lagging on the incline. then when he lands he hit's the track mark but it doesn't have any effect on it. When he landed it was during the regular day, cat probably came up at the end of the day to fix stuff.
first i think the 1 million views that this vid got until now would be kinda worth the effort to fake it.
second, its not that hard. you film the cat driving up the hill and you film the snowboarder. then you add them and edit a few single frames to make it more realistic (sb and cat dont overlap very often, so it shouldnt be a problem). the sound layers can also be added or some guys screaming "stop" can be added afterwards. if its all recorded with the same mic/cam, it should be fine.
Not fake, happened at my home hill about an hour before I got there. Several friends witnesses it and had even talked to the cat driver. The park was closed at the time to be groomed, that snowboarder ducked the rope. He just got lucky
Park was closed...I skied there about an hour later and it was a shitty crusty day so they were trying to groom out the landings for the night crowd, which is the busiest part a mid week day
