actually no. he has a point, something rogge pointed out on the ski show a few weeks ago.

this is two weeks of a very short season that these guys base their career off of. unless they win, they dont make money off of joss. the shots they get there really cant be used in movies, because no one wants to see shots theyve already seen 6 months later in a full length ski flick. they already saw it for free, why would they pay for it?

i have no doubt thats part of why there were no really big name filmers there this year, its just doesnt make sense money wise. that time could be used getting last minute bc shots, spring park shoots that no one will see for free before the movie, etc.

so essentially yes, unless you win, you have nothing to show for it, and that time could have been "better spent" (career speaking) elsewhere.

I can't believe people are actually trying to defend tom and simon now. "They missed out on valuable time that could have been spent shooting" and all that nonsense. Yes they could have been shooting, but they knew that they would miss that time when they agreed to attend one of the coolest event in sports. They might also have to pay for some of their own shit while on a two week trip to sweden where they get to hit amazing features, attend awesome parties, and hangout with swedish girls. Something they also probably knew before agreeing to go. What they did was super shitty and disrespectful to the contest, and that half assed apology doesnt really make up for it in my mind. Lastly, the argument that they were hungover and couldnt say bye shouldnt be valid after such an awesome experience like that.

.... he had one shot from joss that i saw. and actually im not even sure that was from during joss, that jump was barely hit.

and yes, its not like they have to go. but lets be honest, that goes both ways, JOSS wouldnt be what it is without the athletes there.

im not hating on Jon in any way, i have the utmost respect for him and the comp. but i can also totally see where Tom and Simon are coming from.

True, but do you think that they would get more kudos and exposure if they would have been filming some stuff than attend Jons event? Even if they get last place its still all over the web and Jon even have signing 2 times with the riders and partys and stuff going on all the time.

Of course they wanna go there, the exposure they get by attend JOSS is crazy!

And the judging format was on the JOSS page like 8 weeks prior, and btw did PK cry out or doing stuff like this at X-games with the dub front win? No....

actually, yes, i seem to remember pk, and several other pros complaining about the format of the contest.

the judging format was not on the page 8 weeks prior. what was on there was something about 32 points and 16 points for the categories, something that clearly didnt happen since the top scores were all 9's....

I think both parts made mistakes. Team America shouldn't have leaked the edit cause they knew how joss works rom last year. And at the same time i think jon made some assumptions and statements that were not entirely true because he was upset of what the video leak.

Both parts should man up and accept their mistakes truthfully and not only to be OK with the public eye. If they have their differences still, no problem, just do what you want but don´t let this keep going, its not good for Jon, Simon and Tom
