Tramp and Insurance

Hi guys im looking at getting a trampoline but my mom is worried about insurance.  She said that rates can go up / they cancel the insurance.  Have you guys that own tramps had any experience with this?  I know it varies from company to company but still just a general idea would help.  I am also looking at getting lessons.  Thanks for the help

just dont tell them. if you insurance comes, ask you neighbor if they can keep it in their yard for a day. if its an unexpected visit, say ur neighbor is storing it in ur yard for a day. do work?

Good thread. I hear you man.

They bitched out my parents for my mini ramps and trampolines. My parents pretty much told them to fuck off. Not sure if we switched or they stopped hassling us but i kept the tramps and minis.

Idk don't let people who will sue come over, and if you get threatened, finish the job and move the body

but since when does the insurance actually like.. come by your house and check up on you? i mean.. are there guys in surveillance vans just driving around looking to bust you and raise your rates for a trampoline?

i dont think they would have any idea.

I would just get it and not tell them except for the fact that my mom is an account and is worried about everything like that.  She would never just not tell the company, she was telling me earlier how we could get sued, lose the house, being dropped by the insurance, execution, ext. you get the point.  Thanks for the advice everyone but if someone on NS actually let there insurance know and if that made any changes please let me know.  Thanks

it be aight just get it friend of mine had a tramp in the lake on dock floats insurance came to scope the property and just said to remove it or put on ground but hey they put it back up for a little while atleast i think it broke

either she's just feeding you this bs so that you will drop the whole tramp thing because she doesn't want you to have it, or she's paranoid as shit.  both are just ridiculous.  what kind of insurance are we talking about? if its just home owner's insurance i can see her being sketched out about if someone gets hurt shes worried about getting sued, but that never happens. 

just because you get a tramp doesn't mean your rates will go up.  its like having a summer set up, yeah you can get hurt, but you can get hurt walking down the stairs too.  having to tell the insurance company is ridiculous, sounds like your mom just doesn't want you to have one....so just bug her about it till she tells you the truth (that she just doesn't want it), or till she just gives in

My parents said the same thing and I was never sure if it was true cus we still have the same insurance and a tramp, good thread

we couldn't insure mine years back because we have a pure bred german sheppard and adding a trampoline made us way to much of a risk to cover and they were going to drop us so we didn't tell them about the trampoline.  its no big deal.

it's true. trampolines are considered a huge liability by almost all insurance companies due to the extremely high risk of injury &/or death. (bs, i know). the injuries can easily be severe enough to require life long medical care. as such, the medical expenses from said injuries often exceed the payout of most policies. you can mitigate some of this risk by installing a locking privacy fence & having a safety net enclosure on the tramp, but often times the homeowner will still see a significant increase in rates.

your parents aren't bullshittin' ya - insurance companies are bitches.

true but they will never know, its not like they come inspect your house inside and out and your cars before insuring them, just keep it low key and don't let ass-hats on it and you're good
