I was making that gap earlier pretty easily on normal, so I'm guessing with enough speed and a perfect ollie you could make it on hardcore.

There's a glitch that lets you skate around outside the demo area.  Check out the thread called skate 3 demo, there's a video in there on how to do it.  To get to the gap you just have to find the right exit to the clocktower area and you run straight down into it.

Hardcore is really lame, it is way too difficult and rails are very hard. This is something I did on regular. Editing took a while actually.

i feel like the demo is toned down, like not just by where you can be, but i feel like once the game itself comes out itll be way more badass and fun, the demo isnt really great at all i think it sucks, but i feel like itll be sick once the game hits stores

Hardcore mode really isn't that different. Normal mode is pretty normal like skate 1&2, except you can run like Usain Bolt when you are off your board. The only differences I really notice in hardcore are that you push like your bearings are made of peanut butter, and the auto rail lock on isn't as good. You need to be much more precise to land on a rail or ledge. I hardly notice a difference in ollie height and the ability to do flip tricks. You can still easily do a 360 tre flip on flat ground like normal.

yeah, i noticed that too.
but as far as tricks go, it's still pretty unrealistic. i did a lip 270 to darkslide to pretzel 270 out. all on a 40 some stair down rail.

I don't get why people are so annoyed with that...people are like "it's not that hard, I can still tre-flip on flat ground", but in real life, tres on flat ground aren't that hard once you learn how to do them, people do them all the time...and not just pros, like just normal skaters. The whole point is so that you can't do crazy stupid amounts of flip tricks into grinds and then continue doing flip tricks while in grinds to rack up points (tony hawk style), everything else is pretty realistic about the game in my opinion, I've seen plenty of pros do flip trick spins onto rails (Greg Lutzka Kickflip 270 noseblunt at Maloof two years ago...if that's not a video game trick I don't know what is), and even flip tricks out of rails (Chaz Ortiz has been doing front board kickflip out for a while now). So it's really not THAT far fetched with the exception of the megaramp tricks (doubles, huge spins, ect) and people looking for stupid huge gaps (see video above). For me, it's all about how you play the game, if you want to make it realistic, then DON'T go out and do huge gaps and multiple rail flip tricks, but some people like that they can do things that are seemingly impossible in real life, so the game caters to them too, which is smart.

Well I said 360 360 flip. I don't think I've ever seen someone do that on flat ground. But I am not one of the people who complains about the game at all. I love it and have never had a complaint. I was just trying to give him a little example to what I found hardcore mode to be like. I think I still like normal mode better, because the weak ass pushes in hardcore are annoying.

agreed x 1 million. some people it seems like they won't be happy unless you can't land a kickflip without practicing for hours. there are 3 difficulty modes in this game and each of them is awesome

ahhh, I misunderstood, yeah, that would be pretty trick to pull off on flat ground, although I do believe I've seen it done (not on flat ground, I think it was a pyramid box or wedge box kinda thing.

what are some sick spots outside the demo? I've hit the shark jump behind the stadium, that giant drop to rail (only possible on easy, I bailed twice on normal)

the HUGE bridge with the rail on the side is fun. it really pissings me off that you cant set session markers because you always have to hike up to the best spots.
