A new forum idea...

I have an idea for a new forum, one only available to members who have member numbers less than 100k.

i think this might help cut out alot of the rift raft that members like myself, who have been on the site for more then a few years, dont really wanna read. (yea, yea...i know...if you arent interested, then dont read it, but i think this forum would be very relevant to the site)

also, as the site expands its member base, there would also be an expansion in the corresponding member number allowed to be in the forum...thoughts?

i think this would be an ok cult, but cults get so little traffic these days that it would EASILY die within a month...thoughts?

sorry man but there's no nice way to say this, that's a fucking dumb idea. and it would have no traffic. have you looked at the donator's forum lately? there are like 3 posts a month

yeah all hate on the idea aside, it just wouldnt work out. there are plenty of cults that are really good ideas but they just arent active enough. thats whats nice about ns, for better or for worse youre gonna get a lot of replies in a reasonable amount of time

I absolutely love the concept of this idea, it's just a question as to how well it would work out in real life. I'd certainly be down to give it a shot though.

i think it is kind of silly, sure there are a lot of newer members who suck, but i feel like this would water down the forums even more
as a higher member number, i like to think i'm not one of the shitty members who have joined in the last little bit, and i think i would make the forums worse.
Having members who have been around longer gives the noobs someone to up to and show them how its done, so i think it would make new members worse not having the more experienced members around

It's cool to bullshit with some of the old-timers.. and while I agree that there are quite a few newcomers that seem to just post garbage.. There's also tons of cool new kids I see that post quality.

yea i have re-thought my idea and i dont think there is any real way to make it successful.

see the url that comes up when youre at a member profile? just put whatever member number youre looking for at the end (replace the member number currently there)

No but seriously I agree with Jarrett -- yes, there are some noobs who post ridiculous things that help no one, but there are also ones who post worthwhile content. And as someone else mentioned, these noobs need to have examples set on how to ask questions and get real answers etc.

The best thing to do is just to ignore the comments you get from the ones who are dicks.

I would also probably not even realize the forum existed, as I do with some of the cults, and would never bother going there. Maybe work on getting your favourite cult to be more active?
