I've never been to TRG. TGR on the other hand... it depends on what advice you are asking for. As far as basically anything other than park skiing, I'll agree with you. But this is a park skiing site. I'd rather pick through the "OMG Tam Walrus rides this stuff, it must be the best stuff evar" threads to get the few nuggets of legit info on gear than go to TGR and get raged on for asking how Elizabeth's ride (trust me, I dealt with it before). I've ridden both Hellbents and Spats before (3+ foot days) and I loved the Bents. Spats were a little too much for me. I'll admit, they were a bit too advanced for me and I probably didn't give them a chance, but when I leave the midwest on a trip and happen to get dumped on out West, the last thing I want to do is learn how to ride a ski I'm not used to. It's not everyday we get 36" of fresh. So as far as ripping on TGR, sorry if I offended anyone, but I've dealt with their pompous bullshit and "you must be a parkrat if you ride Line" attitude too much to give a shit.

Ok, I'll give you that. However, NS leans more towards the park aspect of freeskiing. When is the last time that you saw a thread talking about a line that Brett Crabtree or Griffin Post skied at a SFWT event?

Alright there seems to be alot of Hellbent fans on newschoolers, i'll tell you why. Hellbents would be sick if it was the only powder ski you'd ever been on which is probably the case for a lot of you. Most of you also probably suck at skiing powder and let's face it hellbents make it easier, it's like tricycle for skiing. For those of you who do ski powder alot and are actually good at it have probably realized soft skis suck, alot.

i ve been skiing for several years now....I have no problem with riding soft skis in pow you just need to learn how to ski in different condition and ski setup....Skis out there are pretty damn well engineered for some crazy shit...until you learn how to ski dont post random shit like you know everything

truth.  Ski another pow ski with similar stuff (110 and wider, rocker), and the hellbent becomes narrow quivered.  There's other pow skis that ski everything a lot better.

I have no problem riding soft pow skis either, because I'm a good skier. However, it is infinitely easier, more fun, and more sensible to ski on stiff powder skis.

Same here. I like mine, and I'm really happy with them (I wouldn't sell them), but there are simply better options now. There was a point where the Hellbents were near the top, but after this long, other skis have caught up. We'll see what happens with the 2011. Hopefully it redefines the Hellbent "brand."
