Nikon vs. Cannon vs. Sony

i searched a couple times and didnt find a disscussion like this and im in the game to buy a new camera so i want to hear reviews, remarks, and what not about you expeirence with these companies, this will proabally turn into a good debate

what cameras? but seriously, 99% of it is personal preference, neither is really "better" its just what you like more.

just any model that you had, and i understand most is personal choice, but i do know that its harder to get lens for nikon then canon because of the autofocus, i want to know stuff like that and troubles or things that they liked about certain models

Nikon and Canon are about equal, all of their cameras have a nearly exact counterpart at the other company.

I have a nikon D60 and I was shooting with a Nikon D300 over the summer as a zipline photographer. If you want ill write up two reviews of both of them later (don't really have time right now and im super tired)

Oh and what are you going to be mainly shooting?

you dont need to write full reviews its chill, right now i live right by scranton PA and that city has a ton of art and landscape and i want to shoot some landscape scenes there, and during the winter im going to be shooting skiing and boarding,

theres some mad good deals on ebay right now for a D3000 and im dying to win it, im going for it

If you want to spend that much, I think the D60 is just as good with some good editing with Aperture or something, and a good flash, personally I would get the D60, a nice fisheye, and a nice flash and waapow. you are a pro

yea D3000 looks like what im going to try to get, and for whoever said the D60 is good i was looking at that too and the D3000 and D60 are basically the same thing just with minor differences in the veiwfinder, and its just a newer version of it, but still in the ballpark same price

I personally like Nikon cameras, I have a D40 and a Coolpix S550, I like the lenses and mostly it's because I'm just used to them now and most of the functions are similar so it's easy to switch back and forth from my DSLR to my point-and-shoot. For the most part they're all pretty much the same, some have different features then others, but it really just comes down to personal preference and what you're used too.

i love nikon cameras.  right now i have the D70s and am considering upgrading to the D300.  all of those companies make great cameras and are all great quality.  i just really like how the nikon cameras work and i feel are very trustworthy

First Post, Be gentle

I like my 'amateur Photography' and have always been a nikon person. thanks to my lecturer sounding like he was on the take ;)

I bought a nikon back then and have stuck with since, never let me down and they are built rock solid. ive fallen on mine so many times,obv a good bag helps too though.
