New park/all-mtn setup, your thoughts? (Kung Fujas vs Volkl Wall/Ledge)

I'm wanting a new setup for especially for a trip to New Zealand in July and Japan in January '11, and trying to older the gear from the US cos of the cheap spring sales you've got going (I'm in Australia where the prices are generally around twice the cost).

As a skier last season I was progressing into the park more and loving it, but still got a long way to go. So I want a ski thats around 50% park/50% all mountain (especially for a little powder in Japan but still okay on groomers in Oz). In the park i've got more of a jumps focus and probably wont be hitting any/many metal rails, mostly just long/down boxes.

Here's what i've found/come up with so far with their total costs (including shipping and mounting bindings at a local store):

1. '10 K2 Kung Fujas with Marker Griffon Schizos~$660
-more of a 'does everything' ski, i've heard/read about durability issues tho and i'd have to get it through a parcel forwarding service

2. '10 Volkl Walls with Marker Griffon bindings (not the schizos) ~$600
-heard its a solid ski, durable and stiffer, but I wouldnt know where to mount it. +3? from sierrasnowboard.com

3. '10 Volkl Ledges with Dynastar PX12s or Salomon Z12 TI's ~$550
-heard its a softer park ski, not so good on groomers? from rei.com

Over to you guys, whataya think and any other suggestions?

walls and the skis will have a recomended mounting position, probly says on their website.

yah i mean as in, I want it to perform well for park and all mountain, so would it be good to mount at centre, traditional mounting point or somewhere in between?

If i were you i'd get the kung fujas, my friend rides them and they're perfect for all mountain, park, wherever. However, the wall wouldn't be a bad choice either. I ride the anthem so it's similar in that it's a center mounted ski. My anthems perform fine as my everyday ski, park, woods, a bit of pow. So with that said, the walls would only hold up better because they're stiffer and have sandwich construction.

I would add the Rossi S3 to that list. I have never skied it and maybe someone who has could tell you something about it... Its looks like something that would work for what you want.

If you want the ski to carve well and be ok in powder, DO NOT CENTER MOUNT.

Out of those I would go with the Kung Fujas. I think it's going to be the most versatile. Mounting at 2-3 cm behind true center would be my choice for a do-everything ski.

I have never personally used them, but people seem to love ON3P Jeronimos as an all-mountain ski. I have never heard anyone say something negative about an ON3P ski. They are a but wider than the skis you listed, but you seem to want mostly an all-mountain ski that can do park, than a mostly park ski that can also perform on the rest of the mountain

i hate you and iggy's mysterious ways, ON3P site visits has probably doubled in the last 2 weeks from how many times i check it looking for new updates, or the new gear to be released!

Yeah i've thought about the line blends or anthems, but i've heard issues about their edge durability, anything to it?

So far i'm still leaning more towards the Kung Fujas mounted with schizo's for the overall versatility (to have as a 'do-anything- ski), plus i've only read good reviews on them so far... and i think they look awesome.

I've read some stuff about their durability issues with bad sidewall and topsheet chipping, anyone know if there's anything behind it? or its just like with any ski used for park, they all just die eventually?

eh... in the end, maybe i'm just overthinking it and should just go for whatever has the right versatility, sex appeal and price...
