Choosing a new ski..

well I know there are a lot of these threads and they do get old. But my invaders are beat to hell and I need some new sticks for next season. Im looking for a symmetrical ski due to being used to invaders. But am open to others. Im looking for something that is a tad stiffer but still a fun buttery yet stable ski. As with width im looking for something a little wider. Im open to rocker and have thought alot about reno rockers. But i kindof want something wider and want some other options. I know im going to get alot of GET ANTHEMS responses, but im looking to have a lot of choices and possibilites to check out. And I do not want afterbangs. I hope that made sense and gives you a good enough picture! thanks!!

Ya can check out the 09-10' Armada Alpha 2, has a rocker and is softer than the alpha 1, which is mad stiff i hear.

actually the alpha 1 is softer than the alpha 2. they are both stiff

I hate to say it, but get anthems.

They are exactly what you described. Stiffer than invader with heaps of buttery goodness, nice and wide and perfectly symmetrical.

Dope ski, you won't be disappointed.

anthems will always be an option. But I heard about base problems with holding wax and what not. Can anyone confirm that?

Definitely get something with a sintered base and not a crappy extruded one.  It makes a huge difference and fast skis are so much better than slow ones.  I can't stand sluggish skis, and I've never had a pair of skis with an extruded base that were fast.  They just don't hold wax well. 

Maybe an AR6 or LTE?

I'm pretty sure invader bases are made of the exact same material that the anthems are, so if your invaders were quick enough then the anthems won't be any worse.

dem volkl walls be dopeness in a pair of symmies.  same deal for the moment reno jibs, and if you do go for rocker (which I recomend), try the reno rockers or alpha 1, 2's. 

I'm always amazed just how invaders manage to be the least versatile ski I can think of.  maybe some mogul skis or super biggies like pontoons are pretty specific, but Line can sell these specialized floppy sticks like hotcakes at that price.  however, I'm a hypocrite, because I still love my anthems, losing their camber or not.

i think that is a solid choice. they are super awesome in park and i think jacob actuall;y used them in freestyle ch. a couple years back

I'm in the exact same situation man, I really want invaders again but I cant. I'm not looking for something wider though. Anyways I've decided I would get some Atomic Punx, since they're symmetrical and apparently on the soft side. Atomic is coming out with a new symmetrical ski that's wider than the punx and even more flexible next season called the Patent. Atomic is a solid company, you might want to look into them.

i believe the patent was introduced this current season but they might have came around earlier. anyway such a sick ski. demoed a pair and now am trying to find a way to get a pair. if your big they are almost to soft.

This is my list of skis I have been eyeing.  I beat the shit out of my AR6s (had em for 1.5 years) and now they are splitting in half. 

Seems like your looking in the same direction as I am...little bit wider skis.  I just want a little more float in pow as Im planning on traveling more this year.  Loved my AR6s (got a little soft flex wise after a while)

Opinions?

I have anthems and the bases go dry after 2 days of skiing I just gave up with waxing them cuz it was wasting my money so now my base is whitish.

you said you are looking for opinions on these skis. i have skied patents and found them to be extremely soft and playful. they are very fun for jibbing around but if you land backseat you will wash out
