Alpha 2 size and mount

so i'm getting alpha 2 this year cause i can get them almost for free. i have never skied rocker park skis before. i'm 5'7''.

Should i get 176 or 182?? last year i rode 176 thalls centermounted and they were sick. But since the alpha 2 are rockered i don´t know if i fhould go one size up. Also, if i'm doing like 95% park with alphas, should i go center. I dont really like skis mounted back from the center, anybody with alphas centermounted?

Any help will be great! thanks!!

How do you like them? how do they ski groomers and how do they feel in the park?

Ive got alpha 1s.  Mount them at recommended 2.5 back.  This is because their is more early rise in the front than the back, so mounting them 2.5 back is actually mounting them on the center of the running surface.  Mine ski fine on groomers but I dont have great experience with skis other than twin tips.  Also, they are great on jumps, my tips hardly ever caught where with other skis they did.  I wouldnt say the alpha 1s are worth the extra money compared to the alpha 2s.  The alpha 1s are more flexible, lighter, and faster, but I also had to wax them every 3 or 4 days out to keep them in good condition.l  If you dont wax the alpha 1s the base becomes brittle, but if you do it is actually pretty strong.  The alpha 2s have a slower base but it is made of a material you dont have to wax as often.

they are super sick. i havent caught on jumps or while doing switchups since. they are also really stable on rails, alot more then my JOs. they are sick on groomers. i feel like the sidecut makes them turn alot better. they are pretty light, but not quite as light as my JOs. alphas are better on rails, groomers, all mountain, and about the same on jumps. i just got them at the end of the season for cheap, so i only skied them for about 3 weeks but i like them alot so far. they are also pretty stiff, but butter way better then my JOs which are WAY softer. so far, the durability seems really good too. armada has some of the best durability on the market except are known for topsheet chipping. since the alphas have cap on the spots that are prone to chipping, they dont chip at all. overall a great ski that will kill it in the park and all mountain. BUT dont think that the rocker will help it much in the powder. although the rocker will help more then the average park ski, it is still a "jib" rocker and is designed to help you in the park, not float in the pow. hope that helps.
