Has anyone bought a car through a government or police auto auction?

looking into buying a new car by sometime in june but was wondering if anyone has done this? Iv been looking online and there are some real cheap deals but many of the sites you have to pay to use and im not doing that. But i was wondering if anyone knew if it is safe to buy a car through an auction like this. Or if there is anyone out there who has done this themselves

I was considering it when I wanted to buy a car last August but all the places I found required you to sign up and pay a fee which I was too lazy to do and also I couldnt go to the auction because, surprise, I didnt have a car.
I ended up gettin a piece on Craigslist which I found pretty reliable to go check out cars and buy em pretty cheap. Always pay less than what they offer though online especially if you got cash theyll take it rather than see you walk away

yea im not paying for any site or anything either been lookin aroundon cars.com and craiglist but supposedly you can get some killer deals through these auctions so im looking into them a bit
