Rails in the Backcountry

do rails havea place in backcountry? i dont think there has been any rail fottage unless it is in the park or in an urban assault. It might be cool to see someone do a huge as rail, then drop a huge cliff. so is there a place in the backcountry for rails, i dont know, but it hasnt happened yet so...

actually in like 13 i think there was some shots of that...maybe the game...
but yea that would be sick to ski a line come to a rail and bs 270 off a little drop

i think in SM3 the rail to like a 60 ft drop was in Hood... not sure

i saw someone do a rail in the BC...the rail ended at the lip of a small cliff so the skier was able to do some crazy shit off of it.

i'll try to get a link or the actual video clip posted. it soooo sick

There was a LINE sequence advert of pollard hitting a rail to cliff/cornice drop. Was sweet, yellow add from 2001/2 I think.

There's random rails in the trees at some resorts, but I'm not telling you where.

A true backcountry slopestyle could be kinda cool...

I don't know rails in the backcountry seems pretty gay. I'd much rather see booters an sweet min golf lines. And the one in sm3 had about a 20 foot drop not 60 and CR did a 450 out not a 630.

there's one in propaganda too....so its already in every movie...just watch a ski flick and you'll see them all over. Most of the time it's people hitting the same rail though...at least inb propaganda, there's only one, and its in 4 segments. Henriks's step up rail was huge in rfa. def the most tech trick this year

we go 'BC' at this dam at the top of the pass by where i live, and depending on how much snow is on the ground, there will be varying lengths of a rainbow-ish rail sticking out of the ground. last season it was completely buried, but since we got ass for snow this season, it was sticking out a lot, once it was 60+ feet, another time it was less than 30. but it's pretty sketch anyway, i dislocated a rib or something on it

dragging a rail all the way out into the backcountry is stupid. theres no consiquences.
doing rodeos off rails is even stupider. if you want to do a rodeo, hit a jump.
and dont jump all over me saying its all tech and what not. true, its hard, but its lame as hell.

SM2 seth does a coaster rail in the BC.


personally i don't think metal rails belong in the backcountry for the main reason that in essence backcountry riding is all about using what you've got in there to trick off. sliding fallen trees is really tight though

I think for a few segments it would look sick but if you think down the road that could lead to rails poppin up in the backcountry permanantly and i think that is bluring the line between park and BC way too much BC needs to stay pure!!

i didnt read all f these posts, so i dont know if im repeating this, but in the front line tanner and cr do a bc rail to pretty hefty drop, and they both did 630s off, it was pretty sweet
