Meathead Films Shoot Tomorrow at Mount Snow!

i was at mount snow the last day it was open(sunday april 11) and when i drove up we saw a huge mound of snow on inferno! we went to check it out and a guy who hits inferno all the time told us that they are building a 75-100 ft booter! i'm telling u this mound of snow was ridiculously big. the shoot is tommorrow and will be so sick! can't wait to see some shots or something.

hahaha what do you think people were pushing all week long at cutters camp?  they had the prinoth beast up there and i had piles going down hill the size of bus.  that mound is HUGE.

haha yeahhh.  The beast is an amazing machine.  The amount of snow that can be moved with it in one push is rediculous.  Blows the BR350 out of the water ahhhhviously.  With all the snow on Inferno that we were pushing around during Cutters, the jump will be massive.

Hey fans! We love the enthusiasm regarding our park shoot this week. Unfortunately this is a private shoot. We have three film crews, a bunch of athletes, and are keeping it closed to public. We do appreciate the emails, tweets, and facebook comments. Keep the shred alive. Love, The Meats

Is it bad that I was riding around all weekend, having an absolute blast, but all I really wanted to do was jump in that machine? That was the first thing I noticed when I got to the mountain on Saturday, beautiful machine.

I sense Shane's a bit jaded.  Yeah, I really hate so much about about MS- namely the crowds, loud and rude people from CT, NY, Jersey (yeah, I stereotype), and the lack of serious snowfall and good terrain.  without the minimal North Face, I might just leave altogether.  Like this hyper hype thread, in some ways I enjoy the constant media attention MS and its riders draw to it, but at other times its over the top.  carinthia is, IMO, the best in the east, but its funny how much many NS'ers often exagerate even that.  for me, even the best terrain park in the world will get tedious eventually. 

still, can't wait to see the product of some S. VT spring shredability con las cabesas de carne

i like okemo's park alot better than carinthia to be honest, although i'd say loon's is better than both of them

Lol. Mt snow doesn't have rude people. Carinthia is a really legit scene. Lapping the different parks on one mountain face. The lodge, the mini ramps. If you don't want to ride park don't go there. The fact that some of the best rail slayers in the east are there, and even the little kids are killing it. It makes you feel like trying more. You see somebody try a new trick and then you just go for it.

And inferno is always a blast. That park is the shit. And never crowded. The gulch isn't really crowded either but sometimes like pay your age the mountain gets packed.

And again, the mound of snow for that jump is outrageously huge

True. You gotta mix it up. Okemo is always really fun. I love that long flat down rail. the y rail(can't believe it died) is or was also a classic. Loon has some awesome stuff as well. I like the way the one park flows into the pipe at the bottom. you can hit some nice jumps, that stairset, the wallride and then dick around in the pipe.
The vibe is really what I love with snow though. All the parks come out at that base area. you go off with some different friends and keep running into more people on the way down that you know. Cheer people on from the chairlift.

Idk it's so much fun.


And loon gets -1 point for me, canceling hike and huck 2 years in a row is a bitch move. i cried last year and this year almost cut myself(not really).

They better do something epic for next years

I like mt snow more than okemo in regards to park simply cause theres much more of a variety on how big or challenging the features are, but i love the fact that okemos park is so long and practically everyone there just pro laps it all day. Sometimes mt snow gets annoying when there are 20 people sitting there waiting to drop into every jump. The worst part about okemos park tho is that it funnels you down into the nor'easter lift which is probably one of the most crowded lifts in the world because the entire main face of the mountain funnels down into that one lift.

that was really off topic.

more on topic, i remember seeing that mound of snow, it was ENORMOUS. I hope to see some pics or vids of it up soon

haha, take an honest look at MS, and then compar it to somewhere like Smuggs or Jay, and I think I'd make more friends up north.  I completely agree that c-town has a great progression vibe to it, but as a whole, I just don't like most of the southern weekend warriors.  grand summit at 11:00 on weekends is a joke.  15-25 min is awful.  I'm a bit biased though, because ultimately, once I leave the east, I don't think I'll ride park anymore.  or rarely at best.  I'm so much more of a backcountry bum, semi-crunchy granola type. 

^with that in mind, could someone give me a good reason not to commit treason and go TGR?

idk man if i had to categorize myself i'd be more suited to TGR but NS is just a great site and ive been here so long. and i like keeping up with park skiing even though im not so into park anymore



also, i just want to ask again if anyone could put up a picture of the mound on inferno im interested in seeing it. inferno's a funny place because its so good but so few people are in it, every time ive been there ive been all alone so you cant watch someone to judge the speed for the jumps, but oh well. its sort of cool being all by yourself on that trail surrounded by huge mounds of snow

Jump was 70 feet and super boosty.  I don't have a picture from the base of the jump but the landing hill is huge.  Our park guys have over 50 hours put into that pile of snow alone.
