That was clearly a penalty. The Mexican defender clearly didnt touch the ball and shoved the South African guy to the ground.

I want the commentators to admit they fucked up. It's their freakin jobs to know the rules of the game.

A nice opener though. RSA was looking pretty poor first half. They kept trying to rush and force their plays. And that Mexico goal was ugly, just a total break down of south africa's defense.

Really really good fucking game. S. Africa did much better than I expected. Mexico did get robbed though, in all fairness it should have been 2-1 Mexico that guy wasn't offsides at all. Can't believe S. Africa hit the post with a minute left to go! Fuck! Great game to start the cup though, and Africa did not break the tradition of the home country not losing the opening game.

Did anyone see the frankly amazing Dodge commercial for the England vs USA game where a bunch of red coats march out and then get chased off by Challengers being driven by George Washington waving American flags? So awesome hahaha.

nah mexico didn't get robbed at all. It's just everyone but that linesman doesn't understand the offside rule.

There have to be 2 players in front of the attacker. Usually 1 of them is the keeper, so everyone assumes that its only 1 defender. However, in this case, the keeper charged out, leaving only 1 defender back...making him offside.

I was hoping for south africa to score, it would just be sad if they lost the first game since their host and all. And good job uruguay defense. I've got one of my friends who said he'd shave his head if england looses.

My math teacher wouldn't let us watch because we had a test, laaaammmeeee. I missed all of the first half and most of the second half of SA vs mex.

the was a horrendous red card against australia

to give a team that is already losing 2-0 and is a clear underdog a red card that really shouldnt have been is absolutely retarded. that ref single handedly ruined that game. sure germany was already gonna win but to make it that easy for them, really? now the final score is gonna be like 6-0 and its always painful to see a team lose by that much especially when they got fucked by a bs call. i never want to see that man ref another game in this whole world cup.

yeah i was just commenting cause there was a bunch of posts about germany and i think a few of them were saying that they were gonna win, i was just pointing out that we havent even seen brazil, italy, spain or the netherlands play yet and they were also playing against a team with 10 men for the whole second half, and australia really isnt all that good in the first place. basically what iwa s trying to say is taht people were jumping to pretty ridiculous conclusions this early in the tournament, sorry if it came out harsh or directed at you

that was sick. of the 3 games I've watched, this one was the most interesting. Germany killed it they have a dirty team. I really wanna see France get their shit together though they have some real potential.

and yea, they scored the most so it should be most interesting, but also, they should have scored like 8 other times, making it even more interesting, and even australia had some really good looks, like of corner!

They soonest they would play each other would be the semis, I think, and the odds of both teams advancing that far (especially France) are very unlikely.


I have to say, I just watched the Japan v. Cameroon game, and I can honestly say watching Japan made me sick. They made the Italians look like honest players....thats how much they dove. Pathetic.
