SO, today was such an important day since several countries announced the selected players for the World Cup.
As far as France is concern, the coach took some surprising decisions..Benzema isnt on the list, it's true that he didnt play that much this season with the Real Madrid but he's imo still a good player. Nasri isnt selected neither even if i played super well with Arsenal all the season...which kinda upset me. Finally, there is not much well experimented player in the team such a Vieira or Makelele..

Here is the list if you guys wanna check it out :

First, before World Cup, theres the Bayern Munich vs Inter game, can't wait for that game, then a two or three weeks after that game is World Cup!  So much soccer this summer!

Spain might have a great team this year, but from what I've seen they don't play good enough together.

3 teams I wouldn't count out
Côte d'Ivoire
Portugal
Greece

There's way to many teams with a shot this year that as soon as my teams (Norway, didn't qualify. America, exchange student there now) goes out, I will cheer for the wild cards!

but he is one of the guys that you cant have on the bench. because he wont sit on the bench and shut up.

so if he is not good enough to be a starter, you better leave him where he is.



selection was also a major issue for the german team. but the head coach does what he wants. i respect that he is not going the easy road. if it goes downhill, he has to go and in the other case he is the best coach in the world.


so we better wait until after the tournament for bashing on a coach.

unfortunately benzema and nasri just didn't do enough to prove they deserved the callup. Nasri did play well, but unfortunately that damn injury that cost him half the season just took away too much time where he could be improving.

Hugo Lloris will hopefully be spectacular. He's a great keeper, and i knew he'd come up big vs ireland. About time france has a decent keeper again. We didn't have one in euro08. Barthez was gone, and lloris wasn't here yet.

The rest aren't bad, though i'll still complain about it a bit purely out of hatred for domenech. I wish vieira had been picked, but truth be told, he's past it. But he'd be a great influence on the team.

i just hope they do well, and on the plus side....domenech's reign will be over at the end of it anyways.

well its nothing against "your" team, they play great football normally, but they have the same syndrome as england.

whenever quarterfinals approach, they become prone to choke. england in 1966 was the exception (with 2 irregular goals, btw) and netherlands in 1988. but besides that, they just cant make it. idk why, but its like that.

so, even though england and netherlands might be two of the better teams on paper, i cant even see any of them in the semifinals.



i would bet 100 € right now that the trophy goes either to brazil, italy, france or germany.

I dont have 100 € but if I did I would not bet against this, these are the four teams I think have the best shot too! I feel like Spain is really good, but as stated before, overrated. Depending on how teams do, theres a way it can be Spain Portugal in the final, which would be a crazy game, but not most likely

Pretty safe bet considering youve covered 4 out of the 7 teams that have ever won a world cup, and one of those teams in uruguay so essentially its 4 out of the 6.

Speaking of that how many of you guys think a team that hasnt won it before will pull through and win their first? For those of you who dont know the only teams who have won are England(1), Argentina(2), Italy(4), Brazil(5), Uruguay(2), Germany (West Germany at the time)(3), France(1).

They got third place in 06 and have basically the same team, with a few extra players, or players that were young and now better. They have a very legitimate chance in most people's minds.

ronaldinho was good to watch, except he's not going to the world cup so his days of int'l football may very well be over. Brazil is bringing a surprisingly weakened squad compared to their usual types.

they needed 100% to make anything happen and without ballack i dont think they get even close to that. i would now predict that germany still wins the group, makes it to the quarter or semi finals and gets eliminated against another top tier team. and this game could get ugly.

he is not just one of the best players at his position in the world, but he is the only real leader this team has or had in this case. the positional void might be filled, but whats with the leadership void? who can step up? it wont be the keeper (neuer will start, regardless of what they say) as it had been for a long time. other long-tenured players are lahm, klose, mertesacker, friedrich and despite their youth podolski and schweinsteiger. they have to show up now and get vocal on the field.

no way dude! spain yea but germany are screwed without ballack and france were poor in qualifying.. I think you can never count brazil out and as an outside bet im thinking portugal could do well with nani performing and ronaldos addiction to winning. Id like to see england do well but well probs choke.:(

I keep hearing about Argentina doing well for some reason. I hope England does well too. Last cup we got knocked out by someone fairly embarrassing like Ecuador or something right? At least 2 cups ago we got knocked out by Brazil which is understandable.
