Best beginner set up for filming and editing?

Ok so i really wanna start filming and editing. What would be the best way to start?

Like...

1. Best cheap camera

2. I thought about a Go-Pro But what one should i get?

3. Best editing program for a Macbook?

Go pro is prolly the best cheap HD cam your gonna get, macbook comes with IMovie and that works pretty well since final cut is upwards of $1000...

If you are serious about keeping filming, get a Panasonic GS-320
It is 3CCD and totally worth the $300. Get a wide angle, and then for editing iMovie is fine, but try to download the old version, the new one blows in my opinion.

if you have a mac, get Final Cut Express. its only like 200$ and it does a whole lot more than iMovie does without all of the extra final cut pro stuff that you wouldn't use anyway

GoPro Hd for sure its super cheap and easy to use and high quality

then the latest version of iMOVIE, its very easy to use and comes out in good quality

It all depends on how much you wanna spend, in the 800-1200 range there are a ton of decent HD cameras you can get. Less than 800 IMO will be not enough for a legit HD camera, you can get flip cams and shit but i think they suck (my opinion, some people like them).

Use imovie HD that comes with your comp, unless you feel like its limiting you then torrent final cut express or final cut pro (recommend you start with express).

Get a decent tripod, wide angle, and you're good to go. You'll probably need about 1500 dollars for a legit setup, but you dont "NEED" a tripod and a wide angle, just highly recommend both.

GoPro have a good quality but you can't filming long lens and take very good shot , so I recommed a little sony HD handy and its cost about 600-700$ and for a fisheyes its like 100$ more for a good ones, after that you will get almost the sames ssetup as the GoPro but you will have the chance to film long lens to taking clean shot. 

But GoPro is very good too if you want to fallow a lot and only take fisheyes shot TAKE A GO PRO :)

Lol it's only about the type of filmer you are, just want you want to do ,, AND this will descide the camera you will like the more.

And for the editing program , you can use SONY VEGAS PRO 9 it's what I take. but the best editing program is FinalCut Pro BUT THE PROBLEM IS IT COST 1000$ it's for this reason a didnt have it lol. And for free you have with all mac ImovieHD and this work pretty well !

What's your definite price range?

For $400-$500 you can probably get a decent low-end 3 CCD camera.

A quick run down, there are 2 (common) types of sensors: CMOS and CCD. You want a camera with 3 CCDs (charge coupling device) if you want to capture good quality video with good colors. Avoid anything that saves only to an SD card since you won't be able to save much video. There are some good HDD (hard drive storage) cameras out there that will let you save more video. A MINI-DV camera would work well for you too and tapes are cheaaaaaaap.

For editing on a MAC final cut pro is the ultimate editing software but not the most user friendly thing. I say go iMovie or iMovie HD and you'll have everything you want/need to do basic edits (multiple audio/video tracks, splicing, and transitions) but no ability to do color correction or anything like in Final Cut.

Like everyone is saying goPros are good for follow alongs. For static shots think about getting a tripod because blair-witch inspired ski edits sucks.

I got a panasonic hdc-tm20 on eBay for about 380 (retails over 600 or something around there) and it's full HD and pretty nice, I'd reccomend that
